Simple ideas for harder co-op vs ai

I understand that constructing a harder co-op mode is probably not a high priority and that improving the artifical intelligence itself is difficult and time consuming. So here are two ideas for a more difficult ai mode that would not be too hard to implement.

  1. No gold from kills or assists for human team. One of the reason ai mode is so easy is that it's simple to farm kills on bots. If we remove the gold from kills/assists it would make people focus more on farming/global objectives/not dying, which would be better training than repeatedly luring the ai into facechecking a brush.

  2. Unbalanced teams. Let us play 2v5 or 1v3 (or 1v5 if we want). I know we can do this is custom games, but why not allow us to play this mode for IP. It wouldn't have the educational benefits of option 1 but at least it wouldn't be quite as mindless as 5v5 bots and let us finish an item or two before we win.

Thanks for reading. Enjoy the fields of justice.

  • It can take a while to rack up a decent amount of gold without kills or assist.
  • Even if you have perfect CS it can take while to gain those few items you will eventually need especially if you lane with someone else and they kill every creep in sight or you / them deprive the other of the CS they could use. Jungling is possible, but will be a tad slow and inefficient for some champs
  • If SOMEHOW it gets to the point where the bots get fed and they are a few levels and items ahead, shutting them down won't really get you up their level item wise.

Yes skill may mean more than the amount of items someone has, but even those you can outplay can kill you if they have decent knowledge

I would not implement the second one, because it would encourage more people (or the ones who already do) to use bots and third party programs to farm IP. Even though bots play in maps that are not commonly used such as Twisted Treeline and Dominion, if they had a separate mode where you can play by yourself AND gain IP.... You can already see where those botters would go, them being able to gain experience points would make it worse.

Yeah they would be out the lesser used game modes, but Riot would want to discourage and shut down botting as much as possible, even if the IP and exp gains from those matches would me minimal.

I do get what you are trying to say with the first one and the educational benefit (focusing more on farming/global objectives/not dying etc.), but people in bot games don't really follow objectives outside lanes or care for them, even the more experience players, and people don't want to die anyway unless they are trying to feed and it would be better for them to learn those themselves through some sort of tutorial, guides online that help one to improve, or through actual game play

This doesn't seem to make the AI smarter, just the mode itself a tad longer and difficult in its own way.
