It kind of bothers how this game rewards risky behavior (in a sense)

I mean if i'm 0/0/0 and everyone else is 10/10/0, they're all way ahead on gold and i can no longer impact the game (as much) ?

It just doesn't sit right with me. I'm thinking how about some death penalties like lose half your gold or an experience level. One downside would be tank initiators getting penalized for dying, but i was thinking we could add a tank item that reduces or nullifies the death penalty.

I mean i know its a team game, so it doesnt really matter who gets the kills, but it seems kinda lame to become ineffectual just cuz you play safe, especially if you aren't playing overly-cautious, just normal while everyone else in the game is going ham.

So what do you think is this just crazy or?

[Whoops i posted this in the wrong section... it got deleted so reposting it here... so far there was one comment which said when you die you lose out on gold and experience not to mention the map pressure. My response was that doesn't contradict my point, since the other 9 players still end up ahead]

how does it reward "risky" behavior. if you do something "risky" chances are it's not that good of odds, not good odds=more risk of dying, dying=giving enemy exp, gold and losing exp yourself.

basketball... bro that's risky behavior, your trying to dribble the ball down the court and make it in the hoop? your a mad man, you shouldn't get points for that

I just explained exactly how.... if you have kills=deaths>0 you end up stronger than someone who has kills=deaths=0. Extending to get kills while risking deaths is risky.

Also risky does not imply bad odds. A 1000:1 bet with a 1000:1 payoff is a risky bet, but the high reward offsets the risk, making it a neutral investment.

Still, maybe 'risky' wasn't the best choice of words. Kamikaze might be a better word? (Is that word racist i tried googing it and i'm still not really sure).

It takes about 15-20 creeps to match the gold of a single kill. So if you're 0/0, and you're farming while your team is fighting and dying, you'd have more gold and experience making you stronger than them. Also, by dying 10 times, you give the enemy a significant amount of gold that you wouldn't be giving if you just farmed instead of kill trading.

You should be farming. You need a safe and reliable source of income. If you just fight constantly and get no kills, then yeah you'll have less income than your teammates who get kills (although if this is the case you should be getting assists anyway), but that's not how you should be playing this game anyway.

But my team is going ham, if i'm farming its a 4 for 0

If the enemy has 10 deaths then someone on your team has kills and can impact the game in your favor.

Also how are you teamfighting without getting any assists?

Yeah i know people on my team can impact the game, just i can't as much. I'm just saying its kinda backwards that the people who play cautious (imo smart) have less impact on the game than the people who trade kills back and forth with each other.

These numbers are somewhat arbitrary, i made them up for a point. Could be 10/10/x and 0/0/x. Here's a more concrete example (also made up, but pretty realistic i think) :

Two vs two lane, our jungler ganks bot. There's some trading all five players end up low, with the enemy duo retreating under tower. The jungler and my partner dive, i stay safe. All four other players die. Now they are all 1/1/1 and i'm 0/0/2. Maybe i can stay and farm a wave before they get back, but i'm low and would be risking their jungler (or roaming mid) coming to kill me.

So i end up behind all four other players, even though i did the "right" thing (this is a matter of opinion). If everyone had just backed off, we'd all still be "equal".

Hope this serves to somewhat explain what i'm talking about.
