I find it extremely un-effective and counter-laning yourself to push your target under his tower and keeping him there. this gives him

-Gank opportunity -CS Assistance (from tower) -a safe zone if you do decide to try and trade

It's a good idea to keep your opponent at mid lane - near your tower...I all too often see mid/top/bot laners pushing their opponent to their turret and holding them there thinking "YEH I WON THIS LANE" then they get ganked and yell at eachother for not warding. please give your junglers an opportunity to give you a kill/assist!

  1. Kill laning opponent
  2. Push lane
  3. Attack turret
  4. Let lane fall back to mid/turret
  5. Repeat as needed

and GG you win lane. unless your jungler is terrible and feeds lane then it all goes to hell.

I try telling this to my adc when i supp, so then they get sarcastic and just stand there not even csing. That or my laners when I'm jung. Elo hell exists where people just push.

I mean, it depends on who you are playing and who they are playing.

You ever try to CS under turret as Malphite? Shit's lame dude.

And if you're playing a strong roamer, like a mid lane assassin, Wukong top, or Riven top, then pushing to turret and roaming can help you snowball other lanes.

Not every enemy champion is a Nasus that wants to be pushed to turret the entire laning phase.

Sometimes it is effective to push to the tower. If you are strong enough to fight the 2v1 for example. Also if the enemy just has a really hard time csing under tower. Frequently I try to shove the first wave when against an ap champ, because at level 1 and 2 they almost cant get any farm under tower.
