Serious question what does Renekton bring to the table that Darius doesn't do better?

No actual mana/energy cost and a much easier to control life'steal 'burst' that is not locked to only hitting champions for one part. But you are basically comparing champions with some huge gap differences, Renekton was released a year and 4 months before Darius (not to mention Darius was last updated on 6.23 and Renekton was 6.15), pretty much a year grab in releases with not many 'huge overhaul changes' is easy enough to say the champions got a large gap in how much 'total power in their kits and itemizations' is altogether (namely Darius has alot more in overall 'potential power' and Renekton could get alot more added to him to make him more up to par with top laners).

Renekton is ultimately the bar bringer for new players in the top lane to over'come i've seen plenty of people say he was, If you can't take on a well-versed player using Renekton then you need to really brush up your skill in LoL toplaning and to that regard, i would say not be someone who easily does it by just picking a champion who scums out Renekton, but use a champion like Garen and win against him by paying attention to when he is gonna try to dive you.

LoL may have scum itemization and champion picks but that does not stop you from learning more advance tricks such as using bush vision, wall jumping with flash and so many others to improve your skills in LoL.

I'm not saying Renekton's numbers are high right now, or that the current items favor him, but by the title "what's the point of picking renekton if you own darius"; darius is better in more situations being a bigger/better lane bully in many match ups, yet renekton's chasing potential, and ability to escape ganks, or get out of losing teamfights is FAR higher. To discredit how powerful up to two dashes are would be silly. Honestly owning and being good at both champions is the best. Here is where I would pick renekton over darius;

if their team isn't TOO tanky and I can build bruiser, items, renekton can Fuck up priority targets, without his damage falling off too much (because they are squishy) his mobility lets him get to targets more easily than darius without getting kited to death.

That's the main reason imo.

He should only really be picked into winning lates for him though to get ahead (to give yourself the best chance of success)

Renekton is safer to pick into kite comps.
