Typical Riot, They don't ever say a word when they know they screwed up

This is like my 3rd URF post which will get downvoted because of all the "Rotating Game Mode" fanatics. Which I don't really care I will stick to the side I love and the more popular side. With that being out of the way I love how Riot isn't responding to any one because they know they fucked up by not giving us URF this year. All we're asking is... WHY. Seriously is it that hard to answer WHY? Then all the comments about the "Rotating Game Mode" coming out and we should wait. Why not have it NOW like normal AND LATER. It would make both sides happy, it would be a Win Win situation having URF now like traditional and having it later so we could have URF more. But I guess Riot won't even answer that question because they are staying away from URF posts on the boards as much as possible.

They said over a month ago they weren't doing urf this year. Are you stupid?

Its not a core game mode and there is zero reason to think riot has to put out this mode for April first. Especially when they said a month ago they weren't going to.

Maybe, just maybe, they wanted to do something different ("League of Draven") rather than repeat the same event which is coming back in the Rotating Game Mode anyway.

A while back, they also said URF wasn't happening on April 1.

Don't speak for everyone, I'd rather see an Ascension repeat than URF. I don't understand this community, they told you way ahead of time there would be no URF. It's your own fault for hyping yourself up for something they said was not coming.

I honestly feel bad for Riot right now, despite trying to stop this crap from happening it still did.

Saying highly upvoted threads should be taken as gospel is foolish, half of the champions would be removed from the game.

Last year they said it wasn't coming back while also posting the NURF troll. Big difference. They posted this year it wasn't coming back BECAUSE it would be back for rotating queue. You're getting the gametype, just not this weekend. Have some patience, not that hard.

You can't have it now and have it later without significantly delaying the later. The only reason there's no URF is because the people who would be working on URF are working on the rotating gamemode queue, which has clearly been given priority by Riot. They can't work on the queue AND individual gamemode releases at once - why do you think we've not got a single gamemode this year? It's not like they're just ignoring URF, they're putting all gamemodes on hold until the queue comes out.

And I don't see why Riot would be commenting on the Boards. What do you expect them to say, "We're really sorry you all deluded yourselves into thinking URF was coming"?

I dunno...maybe cause it hasn't been the exact same thing? Do you remember last time all the numbers were hugely increased? It means they're probably going to change another aspect of it. Also they have to do balancing for it again with new champs.

There have been a variety of new champions, reworks, new items and map changes since URF last came out. It's not as easy as just hitting the on button. If it were as easy as you're saying, we'd have URF right now.

And not everyone would rather have URF now and all the gamemodes later. As someone who enjoys URF a lot I'm content to wait.

It isn't that easy to balance all the gamemodes at once for the current game. This is why they delay the rotaing gamemore queues. I guess.

First off dude, divide the paragraph into at least 2 maybe 3 smaller ones so its easier to read while scrolling up and down when writing a response.

Riot doesn't have to respond to shit. They could just go about their business and ignore the boards altogether but they don't. They actively participate in a lot of meaningful conversations because they actually attempt to connect and communicate to the community unlike a lot of other companies.

The why didn't they schedule it both now and later?

I can't speak for riot but maybe they wanted to try something different for April fools.

Maybe they wanted to show the community that it won't be on april fools so they could have the freedom to use it on other major holidays, weeks, anytime duing the summer/when people have more free time.

Maybe they wanted the freedom to pull an actual april fools joke like the first and second time urf was released instead of the community seeing right through it every year.

Maybe because they didn't know if the rotating game modes would be ready for april 1st and if they should balance it around patch 6.6 or wait for a later patch to start balancing it.

I personally don't know what riot is thinking but off the top of my head at least one of these makes sense.

I can respect this post because you are probably the only one here who's trying to defend riot instead of just yelling at me or something, I didn't mean for this post to sound so toxic as I look over it and I read it again but thank you for actually not trying to assault me just because I love URF

All good man, sry if my post was kind of came off a bit dickish as well. I love riot as a company (yes sometime they make terrible mistakes like the juggernaut update and the league of cleavers/warmongs/cinderhulk/feral flare) and its good for the boards to call them out when they make mistakes like that. It just annoyed me when I saw so many salty posts about urf even after they made it clear that it wasn't coming. I mean they did what so many people on the boards complain about (communication) and then people didn't take them seriously.

I'm a bit nervous about the mage update coming soon but man am I going to be so happy when vlad has some actual counterplay beyond all in him and kill him or watch him sustain it all back.

Honestly I saw another post a little bit ago that had someone theorize that the reason they decided not to do urf mode on april fools day this year came down to something called game stagnation. His post got pretty detailed so i'm just gonna summarize it lightly here. If something like urf mode becomes expected to happen at certain times of the year that could otherwise be used creatively to try new things, even if the event itself is awesome, it will become kind of monotonous to the players. The original post applauded Riot for their audacity to try something new, even if the vast majority of the community railed against it, and I happen to share his sentiment. Nothing good will come of Riot only giving us the same few things over and over. They must be allowed to test the limits of their creativity to give us something that breaks the monotony.
