Ten years is likely where I draw my line.

Today it was brought to my attention that Ohmwrecker and ZZ'Rot are being removed from the game. I read the reasons. I thought it all over. I even had a whole argument against it typed up, because honestly I think that removing items and offering no suitable replacements is ridiculous. The idea that ZZ'Rot has to be removed because it encouraged split-pushing with it, which was the item's entire DESIGN, is ridiculous. Ohmwrecker, a niche pick with uses that yes tapered off as towers fell but still existed with a strategy around it (diving), getting removed because it isn't useful enough to be put up in starry lights. I want to argue it. I want to yell about it, I want to be upset about it. I am upset about it.

But I'm exhausted. I'm exhausted being disappointed so often in the way I like to play the game being changed and shattered with no alternatives for my style being offered. The game I knew is gone. The options I used to have are gone. Sure, the game still has options, but they're not the options I grew up learning and loving League for. There are so many things about this upcoming season that feel like spit in my face. I'm just reminded of Zephyr and how much I loved that item, how useful it was for my champions. Gone, no suitable replacement offered. I don't build Ohmwrecker all the time, but I love using it in silly dive games. Gone. I love Zz'Rot on Yorick - A champion who, again, is designed to splitpush. Gone.

I'll miss you guys. I've mostly been a negative voice on the forums, and that's because I've been bitter and angry over the way the game's progressed. Regardless of how you feel about my views or think I'm right or wrong, this is the way I feel, and I've used this place as a way to make my voice.. I don't know. Echo, a little bit? Definitely not heard by Riot. But that's just how it is. I'm going to uninstall this game when the preseason hits. I'm going to occasionally look to the patch notes and see if anything interesting happens. But this game is so far removed from the League I installed, item builds are becoming so static and binary with champion picks all feeling the same, I only ever have fun playing Udyr anymore and hell, he's about to become one of the least viable champions now because of how plain he is just walking everywhere while the jungle enables all these other specialized picks. This game may not be dying, but it is dead to me. I just hope it comes back to life some day.
