Season 10 Preemptive Disaster

Well, wow. Where do I even begin. I think the biggest one is how everybody's celebrating Spear of Shojin being removed, but missing out on the fact that Cloud Dragon soul gives Shojin to the entire team. These elemental drakes completely changing the layout of the map is a disaster. It's once again Riot having this weird obsession with "EVERY PRESEASON MUST SHAKE THE GAME UP!" Have you seen the map effects?? That is absolutely ridiculous. I like League because it's the same map every game, I have never once stopped to look at red buff's walls and go "Hmm.. Yeah, this is cool, but it'd be better if the entire enemy team could just walk right in. I don't like using flash to escape over walls - Get rid of that."

I've never thought "Damn, if only the path between Blue and Wolves had Scuttle's speed effect on it." If I want to run fast I take a rune for that and/or buy mobis/swiftness. I don't need that from cloud drake. I don't need Ivern running rampant adding even MORE brushes everywhere, as if vision isn't hard enough to keep on a map. As if Rengar can't already chase me across the entire jungle just by turning left a little bit each time we pass a brush. MORE walls popping up, as if Vayne and Qiyana can't already just demolish you against a wall by flashing already. Elder Dragon having an instant kill? Are you serious?

You're nerfing jungle XP again?? Yes, they are. Go read the Top Lane section of the preseason preview, it's hidden in there.

What the hell are these alcoves in top and mid? Again, as if vision control isn't hard enough. There are three bushes in top lane already and one in river just below top lane. The same for bot lane. How many wards do you think we get per game, and where do you think we're supposed to put them?? This is some Crystal Scar type shit here with these alcoves.

Why are you removing Conqueror's true damage? You balanced SO MANY CHAMPIONS around the fact that Conqueror gives them true damage. Is the lifesteal going to stay in the rune at least? You're just turning it back in to Fervor of Battle, right? So why was Fervor removed and resisted for so long?

All of this hype and stuff, that's great. Congratulations on 10 years of your game. Please don't make the 10th season a complete and utter bumblefuck by turning the map on its head. This is the ONE thing I've been able to rely on over the years as not changing. And now you want to have the map change in the middle of the game, at complete and utter random.

what do you mean?

you mean that noone, not a single human being on this planet asked for more damage and rng, but yet riot gives more damage and rng is a bad sign?

them not being able to fix bugs in tft that exist since day 1 on pbe is a bad sign?

several new GAMES when TT got 4 patches in 10 years of its existance?

cmon man, pre season looks fucking amazing RIOT HEARD US DUDE!

I'm pretty sure they will do as bad as for S8 and S9, but we will see soon.

Also, get prepared for the "it's just pre-season" smart guys :D

the map changes actually look kinda promising lol, the new wind drake we'll see, seems to just be a team wide ultimate hat.

This is just to much rng. I can go to steam and type /flip into the chat and get a league match.

Akumu10/17/2019, 12:22:07 AM6 votes

Yup these changes are absolute trash.

But this literally happens every single pre-season. They make changes that you KNOW are stupid the moment you hear them. Inevitably they roll some back or make some changes but the game is still the worse for it.

I honestly dont understand how these things make it through when literally anyone who plays this game and has a functioning brain can immediately tell these ideas are bad.

You will still play the game even though you are bitching now. So sorry but it's just your oppinion

Agreed. Well said.

Riot keep doing this, adding all these shitty new mechanics and things to the game they think will make it more fun, but does the opposite.

Blast cones, TRUE TRUE stealth, every new champion needing it's own gimick like stealing ults and disguising as a teammate, elemental dragons that have an affect based on rng that affects the rest of the game, scuttle crabs that are overpowered and break jungle balance in the river that is almost 100% about which jungler has the better laners, runes reforged that just makes the game less diverse with less creativity and forces champions to be balanced around them instead of on their actual kit, item changes like trying to force banner of command into the meta for no reason, removing items like will of the ancients and deathfire grasp because riot don't want to put in the effort to fix the champions they are broken on (vlad/morde), killing 3rd party tournaments like Victorious Gaming that provided a daily tournament for people of all ranks with rp as rewards in favour of clash (that was complete dog shit and one of the worst things riot have done imo). Just to name a few off the top of my head.

I have to agree and not.

Drag changing map is good. Add new gameplay but the fire one I am not sure, because if it makes players make a pixel perfect movement to avoid walls, it is bad. And the ocean, I hope one ward works for one bush

Removed true dmg , thanks god.

The cdr on cloyd drake, I thought was pure cdr but I read better. Meh, is better not put the shoujin on that.

New bushs .... they are so bad, they are just traps(especially for the jungler of that side).

New map on the sides. Bad... really bad. Kayn and any invisible (timed) champ will love. "MIA" o wait it was on the side of the lane, as main sup I can see the hell it is going to be to ward (sup are going to be wards bag again?) Is not even on the critical path of the game, it is a multiplayer game you don't want to take players away from the objectives. Is dumb. (Put some coins there to collect 😒).

Execute for elder, is a No No NOPE NOPE big nOPe.

at this point i wonder if they play the game they are supposed to balance

It's not the changes that people like. It's the fact that it'll be a fresh gulp of water compared to season 9's nonsense...and I think that is what League needs rn, but I'll agree that these changes seem very ambitious...just like most of the awful changes in s9.

Agree on all but the conqueror bit. The truedamage part is bullshit and needs to go, and it's one of the few good things they revealed so far. though the dragons changes could be decent(exept the shojin bonus from cloud) IF we knew what map transformation is comeing **in champ select already **so we can adjust our picks and bans. However, i fear that we won't get that and some champs/setups just get randomly screwed/boosted by the map transformations, like rengar getting more brushes or ryze basically loosing the ult advantage cause cloud allows for fast map rotations anyway...

If you do not like this game anymore, why don't you just leave.

Please leave the rioters alone. I've yet to see another game last so many years with so many players, every season I see topics saying that this is the worse season ever.

We get it, humans do not like when things change. But please, just be aware of the futility of your topics, all of you, you get read by at most 1 000 players, get 50 upvote and be confident that your opinion is popular.

All my friends who left the game complained was that the map never changes, so maybe it doesnt please you but it was a real issue for a lot of players.

  1. Get that trash cloud dragon out of the game before we even hit pbe.
  2. I would actually like these dragon changes IF we could see dragon spawns before the game. There is no reason not to do this now that there is a "max" amount of dragons that can spawn and it would allow significantly more strategy in champ select.

I've got a feeling that other than the cloud movement, none of the map changes will be that impactful. They're predictable and happen around drake spawns, and the terrain changes really aren't that major. They will swing some fights but this is seriously on plant level - rarely impactful, just another factor to consider. The alcoves are pretty similar, you can jump in there to juke or set up a gank with them, but they're pretty pointless to ward and have no resources. Its just some random extra space.

Cloud speed on the other hand just enables hella roaming. If you're already drafting roaming champions, you have a reason to leave the drake up. Sure, everyone gets to use it but mobility boosts always are the most helpful to already mobile champions. Though given how busted Cloud Soul is, I doubt even that will last too long. You're going to be interested in securing drake when possible so the wind effect isn't likely to stay on the map more than 5 minutes at a time... which to be fair, is a long time for League.

Honestly once you're past the map gimmicks though, all the game pacing changes are terrible. I don't know what I expected. Riot loves messing with the jungle every preseason and they regularly have to walk back the majority of their changes because they break the role. Conqueror getting changed into Fervor 2.0 just shows that Riot will make changes that arrive to the right conclusion eventually rather than just revert something. And they do this all the time, its change for the sake of being change. At least top/midlaners can rejoice that they're getting a bunch of juicy bonus XP that junglers and botlaners got shafted out of.
