Aurelion Sol: Is the Ultimate worth upgrading?

Aurelion Sol has one of my favorite kit theatrics. The kit all blends really well, with a gorgeous movement splash and a mobility/zoning kit to compliment the feel of playing an elegant, powerful dragon. Then you look at his ultimate ability.. and for me, I can't help to think.. ehhh. Not only does Aurelion's ultimate seem kind of thrown together last second as far as the theme of his kit.. it doesn't have the benefits his other abilities carry. Sure, at lvl 6 grabbing the Ult to add kit power is great.. but at 11? 16? It really feels more rewarding to the kit and gameplay to push off levelling Aurelion's ult and pouring into his actual kit. Q: Better stuns, compliments E W: Boosts Passive damage, Better active damage, literally Sols bread and butter E: More mobility, higher range for flight, larger Qs as a result R: Pushes enemies getting too close.. deals damage, stuns them for like half a second, best prepared if knocking enemies into a Q and literally means the Q is the powerhouse of the Ult

Am I the only one? Maybe give Sol a Passive on the Ult that creates stacks from W and the more stacks, the more knockback? Like literally throwing enemies into space type of shit? That would be thematic.. then chase them with Q-E for shits and giggles.
