Also, I don't even die 18 times in most games. If he died 18 times, each after getting at least 1 kill, that's 5400+assists+shutdown gold that he's fed to you and your team. Surely you and your team could've leveraged that.

Not every player is the same. Some are better than others. The champion means little.

If a decent player on any champion played in whatever awful elo you're in they would probably go 69-0-0 on jungle soraka.
