Removal of an item does not mean buffing champs to compensate

That is the dumbest thing I ever heard, you are basically enforcing the meta here and saying this champ needs this item to be viable. Ahri DOES NOT NEED DFG to be viable, heck, half of the lcs games in season 4 people built athenes for more utility and cdr with charm. She would have been just fine building morellonomicon first item. This is the problem with the balance team, nothing they do correlates with the champs weakness/strength, they only try to compensate for what they lost, which doesn't even correlate with anything. Nerf damage because of dfg, give movement speed? What? LB never needed dfg to be viable. Veigar, out of all champs, who in most cases needs a dfg, did not get compensated, and still I played him and he still 1 shots ap casters, which was her purpose in the first place, not to 1 shot any1 he feels fit to be 1 shotted. The same trend happened when you nerfed lich bane, you buffed fizz. Again, fizz would have been just fine without the buff.

DFG champions got buffed when DFG was removed because the champion's kits were tuned around the presence of DFG.

No, Ahri/LB/Veigar/Fizz didn't NEED a DFG to 100-0 people, but it allowed them to do it without using their ult, saving it for a higher-priority target.
