They've basically used him as the Renekton bar of the jungle. For better or worse, they've made Lee Sin basically the standard of balance in the jungle. If you can go against him, you can jungle. If not, you get forced out.

It's ridiculous imo but because #LCSBIGPLAYS they're fine with him being on top for the rest of his existence.

I'd have to dig up the thread, but what they actually said was that they backed off from a pretty significant rework because it would have dramatically changed how he played (you couldn't do a lot of the current combos because his energy costs were higher) and almost nobody liked it. He got a pretty noticeable nerf after that when they removed the AS slow from his E.
