Kalista is actually well balanced

Sure, she will beat you in that game but the person using that champ has to click so many extra times that it leads to carpal tunnel. You lost the battle but won the war

Stick around, someone will want to defend her at some point.

Edit: Aaayyy, look at that, someone is trying to defend her.

  • She takes forever to kill anything when not fed.
  • She is hurt by hard CC Vi JarvanIV Darius more than other ADCs Ezreal Tristana Graves
  • She is also hurt much more by slows than those mobile ADCs.
  • Her only harass is high cost-low reward (Q+AA+E)
  • Her range is meh.
  • 90% of the time she does not have an ultimate.
  • Her W's vision really could be better.
  • There is no good way to build her.
    * Rush item 3031? Lose waveclear and attack speed. * Rush item 3085? Lose power and kill potential. * Rush item 3087? Have not enough of either. * Rush item 3153? Not bad but not really useful until late.

The build part.... So you mean she loses the exact same things other ADCs lose?

disregardable5 votes

Not exactly. Other ADCs will have attack speed built into their kit Jinx MissFortune Tristana so they don't sacrifice when they rush IE. Those that don't generally have some other form of damage, range, or utility that makes their playstyle unique and viable. VayneCaitlyn Ashe

Kalista doesn't really have any kill potential that makes her usable before she has her second item.

Support not even necesarry. I saw a kalista all in draven+morgana level 2. She waited for draven to throw Stand Aside, AA'd him and dodged it, then chased him back to the tower while using Q to dodge Morgana's binding. Rend took him down to about 10 HP. Meanwhile, I'm on sona, trying desperately to catch up and land a Q.

Oh, you mean Vi, who is one of the best people at sticking to EVERY ADC? You mean the slows that don't slow down her jump? Harass is supposed to be completely safe?

Kalista, as interesting as she is is overloaded, and you saying there is no good way to build her is stupid. What, should she back and buy a runaans AND IE on the first buy? With what money? Builds are supposed to be reactionary, not set in stone.

disregardable2 votes

Yes. When Vi gets Ezreal, Ezreal can just blink out if he waits properly. Kalista needs to try to AA out of that mess. It's more prone to failure. The slows do worse than slow her jump. They shorten her jump. Completely removes possibility for escape. When Nasus withers Tristana, it will not kill her. The problem with her harass isn't that it is unsafe. It is that it costs a lot of mana, has a high CD, sacrifices her CS, AND doesn't do much damage. I almost said that she didn't have harass, because it's so ineffective to play her like that when you're not ahead.

Cindikle23 votes

Slows don't do anything to her jump. The only things that affect her jump are the grade of her boots and if she's jumping backwards.

CyberTootie1 votes

From my experience, slows do shorten the distance of the AA jump.

PoisonedPeace1 votes

Well its a placebo, because slows don't affect her jump.

Nasus's slow does none of that. In fact, the slow of Nasus does not exist on Kallista.

The attack speed slow from Wither is actually quite effective at slowing Kalista down. And it also throws off her rhythm a bit.

At the typical attack speed of around 2.5 a 47% max slow hardly slows her down, especially considering between auto + Q + auto + rend + auto + auto + flash. Not only did she just cc 4 people, but she also just out ran 4 champions, deprived multiple gap closers, burned Nasus's ult, got away. But NOW can turn back around and kill all 4 of you since she has all 4 of you permakited and slowed thanks to runaans.

You forgot that she has a ranged execute that stacks infinitely.

Out of curiosity and general forgetfulness, what executes aren't ranged?

You think that's sad. You should have had the luxury of fighting him like I did . . .

P.S he's won two more games with her after I posted his LoLking.

Currently 91/6 instead of 89/6.

But, but what about Urgot?, you lose every Urgot game you play AND his Q triggers one hell of a carpal tunnel syndrome

I started playing this game at the beginning of s4 and decided to main Urgot. After a little while, the area around my left pinky (the finger I use to hit Q) went numb. It's better now, I just needed to build up my acid hunter muscles!

Orangesilk1 votes

As a fun little tidbit, the pinky's tendon sits outside the carpal tunnel, so using it for your Urgots Q is a very healthy thing. I use the one before it (I don't remeber it's name) and it hurts like hell sometimes.

LoL Ergo Urgot1 votes

kk ty. Biology is not my strong suit. Also, I am missing a finger one each hand (birth defects) so I got to use my pinky.

I'm sorry, but that's not exactly the best example to use when his/her win rates with Ezreal and Graves are nearly as high with comparable (or superior, for Ezreal) stats overall.

I'm not saying you don't have a point, but it's more than obvious Puncho here is a really good ADC, which weakens him as an example of just about any ADC champion in particular being OP or otherwise.

Edit: have to agree with the other comments on this, though. Holy cow.

at least 66 of those games are 5v5. AT MAX only 30 of them are in 3s, but given his other champion stats, it's safe to say only like 10 to 15 of those games are kallista 3v3.

And even still >_> His score would be identical in 5v5s anyways, given the fact he's only ever lost 6 games.

10/10 would be baited again.

Does anybody other than me know the interaction between Kalista passive and attack move? It automatically attacks, and by spamming it, because you can't cancel an autoattack, you will just dash after it's completed, and repeat.

GaleWinUnleashed2 votes

You can be certain we've figured it out.

Junkο1 votes

Spamming clicks on the same place isn't that hard though. Or im just used to it cause i have no life.

1st HanarSpectre2 votes

OP doesn't know you can bind the attack move click command.

Andalha6661 votes

God forbid anyone learn to build a frozen mallet on her, thereby increasing her kite potential infinitely more.

Oh wait, I've seen that happen.

To me.

And it really sucked.

Partholonian1 votes

Mallet is terribly inefficient for damage though, and Kalista isn't exactly high damage in the first place. If you can keep your own team's ADC in the fight, they should chunk the enemy team a lot faster than Kalista nibbles on yours. And their turrets, too. Kalista can't rend a turret (most ADCs have steroids that DO work on turrets, especially Tristana Jinx ).

Andalha6661 votes

Her damage lies in stacking spears for her E. Frozen mallet built on Kalista multiplies her kite potential a thousand times, such to the point that she can literally dance around in a 1v2 or even a 1v3 scenario with melee bruisers (y'know, junglers and tops and the occasional mid) and the slowing effect keeps them from ever closing the gap because of her passive. But once its realized that you'll never catch her (and you have about 20 spears stuck in you), Frozen mallets effect will then PREVENT you from escaping, for the exact same reason that you couldnt catch her in the first place. Believe me, I'm not lying when I said I've been the victim of this item choice, and while I agree that its stats are not great for either defense or offense, its the passive ability that causes the issues. Think about why Rylais itemization on Cassiopeia is a must, its for that same reason that Frozen Mallet on Kalista becomes an instant issue.

Hawnda1 votes

Lissandra : This is but a battle. I've already won the war. :^)

Tentacle Love1 votes

Actually as a Kalista player, you can use shift-right click to cut your clicks in half, you just have to be a little careful with it because if you dash away, Kalista likes to run back in and then shoot. (and by shoot, I mean floss the tank)

And if you have the self control for it, you can deliberately avoid right clicking on the target and just click to dash. That's a lot more skill intensive but saves you your mouse buttons! You will have to click the correct target if Kalista derps out though and focuses on the wrong target.
