New AP Items

Hi everyone. I think the game could benefit from more AP item choices, especially for casters who want each individual spell to have more impact.

Deathfire Staff (3200g) +120 AP -30% Cooldown Reduction UNIQUE Passive: Your spells burn enemies for an additional 30% magic damage for 4 seconds.

Deathfire Orb is an alternative to Luden's Echo, built specifically if you want the opposite type of gameplay compared to Luden's Echo, with your spells dealing more magic damage than usual, but at the cost of increased cooldowns (negative cooldown reduction). This makes for more strategic gameplay and a bigger focus on actually making the few spells you have count... a lot.

Magical Glass Wand (3000g) +100 AP +10% Movement Speed UNIQUE Passive: Deal an additional 20% ability damage and take 40% increased damage from all sources.

Magical Glass Wand is for casters who want to make a big impact regardless of the consequences. It's a glass-cannon style item for maximum damage output - emphasis on the word maximum.

I think these items or items like these would be highly beneficial for certain casters. Thank you.

That first one is... OP. Like VERY Op. Can you imagine AP Shyvana or Veigar, Syndra one shoting everyone with that thing?

Just a few examples. Vei can deal about 1000-1500 damage to lower targets this grants him 300-450 bonus execute damage.

Shyvana deals 1400 damage with an E when she has 3 items. That means she'd get 420 Dmg from this item. 1260 if she hits 3 targets.

Syndra can Q E, dealing most squishes full HP generally dealing 1200 to 1300 damage at 3 items. This would ensure that she does not need ult since she'd gain 360-400 dmg. Ulting someone else for nearly 1000 increasing her burst by 600-700 Her total wait time is 3-4 seconds for her Q/E and 20-30 seconds for her R, granted she has no CDR to counter it.

The 30% gimmick does not warrant the power.

Also I don't think it quite has the effect you want it too.

Karthus/Syndra and Cass have spammable abilities. Increasing a 1 second CD like Karthus to 1.3 is negligible for +30% damage.

The second is too weak, I take 40% more damage to deal 20%? Why would I want to do that? If we are even, I purchased an item that makes me lose.

Also why not get item 3907 where in a lot of cases I can gain more than 20% of my damage with it's passive and 20 more AP?

the 2nd item sounds a lot like rabadons???

And items dont usually give negative stats, why would anyone want that? Sounds a bit broken on burst mages

Okay...ah...for the 1st item, Deathfire Staff, it doesn't seem very useful even if it gives 120 AP, but it does more harm than good in itself due to how it will be a reverse CDR than the regular CDR. CDR is quite important and I don't think that that item will be more expressive on making every spell count. When you miss an ability, you have this window of vulnerability, enough for the enemy to go in and it's up to you to hold on until your abilities go off cooldown.

That item will just turn the window of vulnerability into a door. Skill and positioning will just not matter at that point. You're making yourself even more vulnerable and it's very unneeded. Deathcap is much more useful even though it's pure AP. It would make champs with point and click abilities alot more deadly though, but even if that's the case, it will take like forever to become threatening.

As for Magical Glass Wand, Honestly, Spellbinder is a better option that this one. Even with movement speed and 100 AP and additional 20%, it puts you at an unnecessary risk and vulnerability that if you're ahead, you're throwing your lead, and if you're behind, you're putting yourself behind even more.

I do not think these items will be a good addition to the game for the mage class. I mean, as a Vel'Koz main myself, I wouldn't even buy those items if they will make Vel even squishier than he already is, and less ability threatening as he should be.
