What is the point of ranked?
I was told by a mod that if I want to play League competitively I should join a team. So I'm asking then what is the point of ranked and normal games?

Ranked exists to prove who the greatest neckbeard truly is. Normal games are for skinchins.
rankes is pointless atm tbh the player base dropped massively for ranked making it complete crap. boosters and smurfs are rampant in lower elos trolls in every other game intes duos getting raped almost every game. they want us to play ina more team competetive setting but then they give us this garbage flexed que they need to bring back the old raned 5s man where your team shared wins and losses as a whole when you had an actual roster with 2 subs and could only lay as a team with tht roster.
Both exists to build games for players to play, with some different intent behind what kind of match they make.
Normals have more relaxed rules MM uses, it becomes a place you can play with any friends you have online. It is intended to be treated with less pressure to "try hard" so that players can attempt new strategy's, builds, etc. Ranked has stricter MM rules and limits. It is intended to be treated more seriously, they want you to "try hard" and climb. Its made to reward you if you can out preform a majority of the player base
Competitive pro play requires practice and coordination. You can attract a teams attention by climbing to the top of the ranked ladder. Building a Team and sweeping thru Tournaments is also a method to get attention.
