whats the difference between lethality and armor pen?
??
??
Lethality takes a flat amount from their armor, because armor is more important the less you have this makes it very good against targets that have not built any armor.
Armor pen shaves off a % of the target's armor, making it better against high armor targets like tanks.
oh ok ! thank you :)

Doesn't it not even calculate when a target doesnt have any armor?
Every character has armor, but if they reach 0 armor your lethality can take them to negative armor, so instead of resisting damage they take bonus damage.
If they haven't built any bonus armor then the last whisper items will not affect them though, that item gives bonus armor penetration, which only penetrates armor that isn't a part of your character's base stats.

all champions start off with armor, depending who u play, its in their stats
With Armor Pen you were ignoring exactly that value of your opponents armor.
Lethality uses the following formula:
0.6X + [(0.4X * Y)/18] = Amount of Armor ignored
X = your Lethality Y = Opponents Level
o.o ! maths damn.. thanks man :D
the formula is basically saying the following:
When your enemy is "lvl 0", then the amount of armor ignored is 60% of your Lethality. This scales up to 100% when your enemy is lvl 18.
So if you have 20 Lethality, you would ignore 12 Armor of a "lvl 0" target, 16 of a lvl 9 target and 20 of a lvl 18 target for example.
I think he means the current armor pen, not in relation to flat armor pen before the changes.
well the big difference is lethality exists and armor pen does not.
i feel like armor pen doesn't really do anything. i've used it in the practice tool, against a tank, had a lot of armor pen, and it still felt like i was doing base amount damage.
