50000000000000002 votesAssuming the player can play both champions to maximum potential, that's true. But if you have a diamond level Ahri ADC and diamond level Caitlyn ADC, they're gonna be pretty comparable.
Maybe that diamond Ahri ADC one trick can climb higher with a different pick, sure. But if they can't, it's better off that they pick the comfort pick.

If she goes AP she'll keep healing her team for a ton, go to lanes and provide "heal ganks" which basically gives your allies more sustain. If you go AD you have an almost undodgable silence which will be good in teamfights. You'll also do a bunch of damage because well, you're ranged and you build AD.
Live2LetDie4 votesI mean go look at the one tricks in diamond plus.. Shaco top, bard top, raka mid, fid anything, etc.. If you practice enough you can pull off any champ to an extent. Faker is Faker because he knows all the champs from their cd to their animations and knows how to play around it.

RookPusher1 votesIf you'd just made it the last sentence, you'd be fine. The problem with this game is that people believe in "talent" and it's not real. If you only played one champ for the rest of your time in this game, you could take them all over the place - and climb - while doing it.
I really wish more players knew that.

Talent doesn't count anywhere. It's always the amount of time and effort you put in. Talent may give a slight boost at the start, but if you truly want to climb to the top, you will. What you're born with is irrelevant if you're passionate about something.

Your talents don't prevent you from accomplishing things or give them to you for free, but playing to your strengths is much more efficient than grinding your way towards a goal you just aren't inherently geared for.

Talent is a fictional concept, like genius, or swag. Even Einstein himself said "i'm no genius, I'm just endlessly curious." It's all the same thing. Anyone can do anything if they put time and effort into it. So therefore the only difference between the Gardner and the Neurosurgon is their interest.

Some people just have an easier time processing some kinds of information compared to others, and so given the same time, effort, and level of support will go farther than someone else trying the same thing but without the genetics for it.
There's a difference between saying 'you don't have the same kind of talent as this other person, so you can't reach the same goals' and saying 'you don't have the same kind of talent as this other person, so given the same time, effort, and support you won't go as far as they will'.
