I have plenty of fun playing against jayce, its just that I play real top and midlaners when I go top or mid and when midgame comes i'm going to be built to go balls to the walls on that asshole. Don't even dodge his bullshit just dive him right through it like he's the adc. Force him to build tanky or get fucked.

That's what I do, dunno if it works the same for anyone else.

I do that too. if he goes mid ill just dive on him every change because at some point he's dead.

it doesnt work when you're a melee dude.

you dont get to farm much less touch a creep.

he can make u useless from minute 1.

I do worse against jayce when i'm NOT melee

but then I also play toplaners that can deal with ranged well because I anticipate lane swaps

Irelia Shen Ahri Fiora

going to pick up DrMundo and eventually something else

but mostly I play Irelia because she's bullshit, as toplaners were meant to be. She is also just generally strong against jayce apparently.

The main issue is the lack of proper balance for how certain champions get some of the broken kit (such as ridiculous mobility or 'extremely' flexible all in/escape mechanics.

Jayce is dipping into 3 elements in this regard: Having elements of a Fighter, Marksman(Poker type) and Assassin(Especially with the mobility burst he can make use of thru his abilities and his 'all in jump ability'. The main issue i see here is he is getting too many things at once (engage jump in, disengage hammer slap, long range poke, long range poke that can be empowered to do alot more damage, AoE and shot much father, a mana recovery gimmick, etc). This pretty much brings me to my point on 'multi mode champion/heroes'

If any of ya played Dawngate and/or Infinite crisis before they got closed down, you'd know about that wierd robot who had range/melee gimmicks but also a bs 'illusion that could copy the actions of the original(Example of RIDICULOUS bs kit), while Infinite Crisis, the 'DC moba' had one called Blue Beetle that was a Assassin/Marksman mix, but because of how his kit worked, he was unable to go with some ridiculous tank/fighter build and could be relatively ruined easily by going thru a full rotation of his abilities (plus his 'transformation, was his actual R that was locked behind level 6, not granted 'right at the start), namely using up 'mana', this is a much better example because it gates the ridiculous all in power at level 6 and still makes the mana scalings inefficent enough to where the champion/hero can't be spam harassing you with ridiculous ease (double bonus since it required commitment via a mark with certain abilities and detonate them to get his damage really working).

So some good ways they could SERIOUSLY fix up Jayce without even gutting his entire kit would include making him be highly mana inefficent(especially without any mana items, mana regen or even constantly facerolling all his abilities at once), return him back to 'regular QWE levels and force him to wait till level 6 to go into his 'alternative mode'(im thinking his blaster for obvious reasons), which means when he gets it, likely the opponent could actually have enough items built up by then to help counter Jayce, requiring the Jayce to actually think, then be this retarded run around, poke with ridiculous ease, pub stomping mook of a champion.

Since the main 'tactic' behind Jayce is to his blaster mode's 'range Poke ability' to whittle down the enemies health and use the 'distance' to easily break off minion aggro, if they try and dive Jayce(especially if he is already in Hammer mode) he just needs to knock you back to easily screw with you or he does a dive in, unloads a bunch of damage then hammer disengages you to basically leave you low health and perfect for him to maul you in blaster mode if you don't run back and end up starving on more CS and experience points. Lets not forget the item 3142 build that plenty of Jayces want to use which adds a third mobility tool (since he already has 2 'abilities' that grant him ways to run really fast, So they can get away 'really' easy with empowered Poke, hammer change, Dive in, damage beat down and if shit goes south they just get away with smacking you away. Not to mention he has no massive downside once again to 'compensate' for his ridiculous power, especially in early game.

Seriously, make Jayce have to watch his Mana bar by upping his mana costs and making him lose his hammer mode's 'regain mana on auto attacks', so he's forced to be like a Ahri in being extra careful on mana consumption and not building any can make him extremely bad for multiple fights in a row or prolonged ones, especially if he wastes his mana by trying to 'poke out' some of the health on enemy champions.

[slayer-jinx-unamused]

Hell in a sense, Jayce basically gets his ultimate right away and then gets a second ultimate in the form of a extra skill level he can yank outta his arse on his Q/W/E abilities(Basically makes Syndra pretty salty too in this regard), which are technically 6 abilities meaning even more 'gimmicks' he is being granted too much of which again puts him tied with LeeSin in having a total of 7 abilities (8 if you count passive), though just behind Gnar, if you count Gnar having 8 abilities (9 with passive) since he has very different 'moves' he can only access between mini and mega forms.

Very least unlike those 3, Nidalee is stuck on the AP region and is the type to be 'very squishie' but with good reaction speeds, can be shut down super easily by dodging her Q spear throw and screwing up her tempo once she dives ya with her cougar form.
