If you don't have enough damage (ex. 3 tanks and 1 support) you lose.
We can prevent that from happening if we tell each other what champion we're choosing so we can make sacrifices for a better team composition.

No you don't. Unless you're in challenger, you can win a game by simply being better than your enemies. Your pick and teamcomp doesn't matter at all.

Point being: I don't like to show people my pick intent before banning phase is over because people have banned away one/two/three of the picks i pre-selected more than just once.
And if I show my intent before we get to ban-phase and someone bans away my pick then so be it. Can't blame me for banning that guys pick intent and then pick his second intent as off-meta pick. I'm confident enough to play with any champion, don't need to play my best champion for this. Dunno how my teammates like it, but w/e.

Nobody can ban them away from you but it lets your team adjust their picks.

Carrie Pigeon1 votesI'm an AP Kog'Maw main. Hovering him as my pick has led to some less than fortunate results simply due to a currently bad place in the game due to frequent nerfs and meta shifts. In my experience hovering it has resulted in a 50/50 of it being banned.

How many times have you seen top mid and jungle lock in squishies and go "We need a tank!" when your last pick intent is support janna for example?
