It doesn't really tell us how far we're getting through the honor system though; and once you're losing track of how many fragments you got, who knows how far you actually are?

I think the honor system was made ambiguous, so that players don't grind out honors. To just play well and have enjoyable games for yourself and other people. Key fragments recieved from the honor system do tell you that you are on the right track and to keep it up. Honestly, that's good enough for me, since I know I'm never a toxic, or even an unpleasant, person in game. Though my main's old quote contradicts this "Unpleasant? I'll show you unpleasant!"

But it DOES take out the impact of honoring someone if the awards are almost nonexistent, as for me in the first few weeks I always got exited when I got honored but as it becomes more and more clear how much an honor is really worth (almost nothing) it does take a lot of interest from me. And what would be the downside if you can actually see your progress? And the "grinding" argument doesnt really cut it for me because how can you impact your games negatively if you try to be especially nice?

Except pleasantness never seems the criteria for honor. I am fairly silent or pleasant. Once in a blue moon I will get honored for being tiltproof, but the majority of honors go to carries. And it feels even more call of duty like in games now with people trying to carry and get honored for it.

Haha good point. I've tilted a couple times under extreme moments of "wtf", but for the most part I'm pretty even keeled. At worst I'll comment "I pinged drag, why didn't anyone show? Free drag for the other team" or something like that.

I don't normally see people getting honored just for carrying. I'm not saying it doesnt happen (for I've carried and gotten honored for it), but I've seen people get honored with mediocre KDAs.

That's my experience as well. I'm a nice guy, never toxic, always try to be positive (I play support) and the carries get all the honor and I get none (even if I was really carrying as the support).

Not to mention the lack of progress bar is why I think toxicity is creeping back into the game, the new honor system fixed it for awhile, but since people can't see their progress they are starting to give up and go back to being toxic. All to solve the "problem" of people grinding for it, when its apparently something that'll take all season long just to go up one level, so grinding for it is basically pointless since it'll take so long anyway, you should just let it happen naturally.

Not that I think the honor system isn't good, it has helped a ton with getting toxicity under control, and now we get keys more reliably, but it could be better.

Well, I've honored supports many times. I look at who was the most helpful in securing objectives and/or was the most calm and positive among the team. I don't really look at KDA.

Might be different for others though...

Nah, key fragments are awarded at random with the singular requirement that you maintain honor level 2 or higher. Has nothing to do with actually progression.

Ya, but it doesn't happen because of honor. You get them randomly, with the only stipulation being that you maintain honor level 2 or higher.

Have you made Honor level 3 yet? I get honors alot after every game mostly cuz of good play and occasionally shotcalling but I'm still level 2. I'm pretty sure noone is reporting me I'm a pretty friendly dude. Idk.

Lots of my friends have more keys than chests. I play a lot of different champions, so I'm the only one in my group that has more chests than keys.

I semi-agree. I do wish some form of progress was communicated better than just dropping me a fragment sometimes, but i do recognize the countless ways even the simple things could be abused.

It's a bit frustrating but im looking forward to hitting my level 5 eventually! I may not be good enough for ranked but i can be fun enough to rack up "GG<3"s
