How do I did ranks, when I did better than last season??

Last season, I did my placements, won 4 games, and the losses were horrendous and terrible losses. They placed me Silver 4, and I ended the season Silver 5

Now this time, I kicked butt. 8/10 wins, the two losses were relatively close, and 6/10 games I got S ratings for. but i get placed Bronze 3?? What??

This Makes 0 sense to me...Somebody rationalize this for me where it doesn't sound as terrible as it looks from my perspective...before I mimic the Riot logo for my computer...

They give you a soft reset, where they do this formula:

(Your previous season's mmr + 1000)/2. That's where you start when you start playing your placement matches. From there, you can only really drop. But Riot says that this drop is okay, because if you were truly meant to be in silver 5, you will climb back easily.

You were Silver 5, you literally had no chance to get anything other than Bronze. It's the way the system works. If you placed in Silver 4 and never got anywhere but Silver 5, then you probaly had low-ish MMR to start with. The system works fine.
