can someone really fault the support

I've got a question about bot lane, and it's mostly just because I've had what I would consider poor supps lately the past few games I've played. My question is how much can you really fault a supp for losing the lane? I know how online games work the whole "my teammates are all terrible stuff" for example today I had a Leona who didn't bring in a keystone, I was poking lux(supp) and then I got caught by her stun, and varus(started) shooting me Leona is it a full hp and she never engages, and I nearly kill lux 2v1....now yes I shouldn't have got caught but I feel like had Leona came in, and exhausted, we win that and i get a double. Just wanting some opinions I don't mean this to sound malicious, like I said, I just had a string of poor laning games and I don't feel like it's my fault but I also know how this works (it's never my fault I'm draven XD), once the team fights start I tend to catch up quite a bit if I'm behind.

Yes. The way I like to judge solo-queue supports is, are they a quarter as good as the good supports I get? Are they capable of making some impact in this lane, even if it's not as good as it could be? If the answer is no, then I'll ask them in chat to improve. If they react as if they're doing a great job, then I get annoyed and blame them.

eh i had a terrible game as a support in ranked went 0/10 i mean yeah i made a few mistakes but i just love being blamed for losing the game solely when i couldnt do anything let alone i couldnt get away from a darius was also told to go hang myself so i might as well go do it.. that or go douse myself in gasoline and light it

While you can fault any player not carrying their own weight, always be sure to look at whether or not you could have put in a little more to get there. As a Sona main i have plenty of 2v1 fights where they get out with bareeeely any hp, all bc the adc wanted a minion or two before coming in.

you can fault the support for the loss of the lane if it is their fault

i had a game earlier today as blitz ( it was my first blitz game in about a month)

my very first pull was a EPIC pull, and then i managed to miss every other pull for the duration of the laning phase. luckly for us our top mid and jungler all got fed and carried us... but i felt SOOOO bad for my adc. i wanna to just give him a hug and say I'M SOOO SORRY!

the best part was when the enemy team said to me.. "you proably should play skillshot based champs" and i replied.. "I'm a nidalee main"

ADC WHOEVER YOU ARE, I'M SOO SORRY!!!!!!! PLEASE FORGIVE ME!!!!

Fortunately while Blitzcrank is about 80% about the pull, he is also 10% about the knock up too.... and about 10% about just being there annoying the curd out of the enemy team so they target him all game xD I have some of those games that i cant hit a pull for the life of me too =\ always sucks.

It is the fault of a person if they do not help at all in a situation like that. Leona is an aggressive support and thrives on turning situations like that against the enemy..... if they do not help at all, it is not good. On the otherhand, a support can NOT be blamed if the ADC gets way too aggressive when every time they tried, and the support does try to help out, the ADC dies/double kill happens against you, and no deaths of the enemies. It also can not be blamed on the support if the ADC keeps getting Blitzcrank or Thresh pulled 24/7 etc, and when the support tries to help, the adc dies/double kill happens with no kills of enemy team...... etc. There are many situations with many things going on, and while there should not be any actual blaming, there are some people that should be given some polite tips.

Is it Leona's fault for not coming in after you got caught? Not 100%, no. It's your fault for getting engaged on. Of course the best play would be for Leona to go in, but you can't control your teammates... or their skill level (this Leona was obviously unskilled).

But yes, a poor support can make you lose lane/game. But your support didn't cause you to get snared by Lux, so you gotta take some of the blame there. And don't make plays that absolutely rely on your teammates (unless you know they'll follow up).

Loss/winning in lane is both members shared responsibility.

Not dieing is each individuals responsibility. If you all in in a situation where you need your bot lane partner to work with you to succeed, you are personally gambling that they will do so, and that on you, not on them for actually following up or not. Losing lane is sometimes inevitable as a side effect of that, but the key is to lose lane gracefully, instead of repeatedly trying something that isn't working. Much better to lose lane and be down 50 cs than to be down 50 cs and 5 kills as often ends up being the case with frustrated bot laners focused on making sure everyone knows their bot lane partner is the reason for the loss, instead of trying to cut losses and come back in mid-late.
