Neeko: It needs to be said...

Hi All,

So been a while since I did a thread on the Boards, but with the release on Neeko, and the reaction form the boards in general, I decided I'd do a quick one to SHUT PEOPLE UP. That's not everyone, just those few with an IQ less than that suicidal mini gromp Neeko was talking to at the start of her trailer.

So lets start with the "omg every 3 hits passive on W! Rageblade, nashors bloodrazor CRY!" people who Riot have created a new rank below bronze to help next season. This won't happen. Not "might not" but WON'T. It's the type of troll build a diamond+ youtuber might play 5 games of against bronze 5's, get fed in one, upload and people will watch and think "that looks cool" and proceed to feed for the next 10 games with. She MIGHT benefit from Lichbane, but that's far more dependent on her AA range than this passive. This leaves us with the obvious build of ludens/runic into X Y or Z (rylais, morrellos, liandry's, lichbane, etc etc etc). Don't believe me? Notice NONE of her abilities mention mana sustain? Think about it...

Secondly, her role is CLEARLY that of a midlaner. Yes she will have some use in the jungle and as a support, but lets be honest here, her W gives neither a blink like shaco, nor a decent duration of stealth/invisibility at level 1, which lets face it will be most of the game as your Q would be your jungle clear, and your E would be your gank CC. Talking of the E, it's duration and size grows the more enemies it travels through. How is that going to be any good when you're coming out of a river bush for a gank? Again, think about it...

Third a message to Riot: For the first time this year I am HAPPILY surprised. Neeko is a mage with some real tactical use without lacking outplay. I think the concept is fantastic, and the delivery is even better. Now all that remains to be seen is if you can BALANCE her. I sincerely hope you can because I think she has wonderful potential.

Finally a prediction for those unsure of how her passive works. I imagine it will be similar to Swains passive in that it has a CD that once available will be activated by right clicking on the desired ally champion. In the video it shows just before she ults that she changes into Xayah. If it was a simple case of the closest ally then it would have been Rakan. Also note that as "Xayah" her AA animation changes and didn't break the illusion...i loved that xD

So yeah that's all from me, feel free to comment, upvote, downvote, shout at me and anything else you feel is adequate response, just remember to wait until you actually PLAY the champion before crying how broken, bad, annoying, Shaco/Wukong mk2 she is. You might find you're the reason Riot don't take the boards seriously.

  1. On-hit Neeko will be a viable option, no doubt. It appears that she would take the role of an ADC Kennen, just a bit stronger.
  2. Riot clearly intends her to go mid. They also intended for Vi, Leona, and Blitz to be top laners and for Mordekaiser to be an ADC. What Riot intends doesn't always happen.
  3. Her invisibility doesn't need to be super long to be a good gank tool. It just needs to carry her from "out of vision" to "in line with the creep wave", because if you shoot it through at least two creeps and hit the champion as the last target, that's a 3 second root.
  4. It's not hard to make that useful. W from out of vision into line with the creep wave while the enemy is standing behind their minions, E the wave, catch them at the tail end.
  5. The passive works on a Kindred style selection system.

no need to wait. She's already a Shaco/Wukong 2.0 mage edition.
