"Don't grab lifesteal"

Because you lose damage in lane... Where did this crap start? sure, you lose 10-20 damage, but unlike your enemy you don't have to spam purchase pots to stay alive. Ontop of that it keeps you almost always full health...

Why does everyone fall for the "pro trap". The reason they get away with it is because they are pros, not the other way around.

i'd only get it if you're losing really badly or playing a champion like kalista and are rushing a blade or something... delays your two core item power spike mid game by a lot, and very often lose trades so badly that you can't safely lifesteal anyway..

delays you by 900 gold, thats all it takes...

Spam purchasing potions generally just puts you behind.. If you're going to buy more than a couple after initial pots you should be getting a item 2033 .

I do not understand this spam buying potion tactic people have been doing.. They're wasting tons of gold. 3 or 2 pots every back in some cases... I've legit seen people spend enough for a bf sword or tiamat on potions.

The worst part is I've been seeing this trend even on pros / ex-professional players in their match history. They sometimes buy 8 - 10 potions in a game . It seems so gold inefficient.

biscuits keep you alive vs ignite and other close situations, more than one per back is over kill though

It still feels like a coin flip tactic. Your spending extra gold for the possible chance of turning around a bad situation that may or may not really be enough or necessary.

I agree its a total coin flip. Some players like that though, like taking the one crit% mark just for the off chance it turns around a gank or trade.

In the case of a 1% crit mark it's a more reliable bet versus risk.

Mathematically you can prove just what the gold values of each rune are according to stats on items.

1 ad rune is worth 33.25 g (Longsword 10 ad = 350g, so 35 g per 1 ad and the rune provides 95% of that) 1 arpen rune is worth 53 g (Serrated Dirk 20 ad + 10 arpen (1100 - (20 * 35) ) / 10 = 40, 1 arpen rune is .3 more) 1 as rune is worth 42.5 g( Dagger 12% as 300 g, so 25 g per 1% as, 1 as rune is .7 more) 1 crit rune is worth 37.2 g (Brawler's glove 10% crit 400g)45

Versus a single ad rune you actually gain gold efficiency taking the crit rune. Versus anything else it is a very slight loss (16g at most) at least when it comes to the pages you mostly see the 1% crit rune on.

So the risk in this coin flip is much much lower than a potion. If the potion doesn't work or help in any noticeable manor you've lost at least 50 g or more if you bought multiple potions. The situations that it can be helpful are also so varied it's really hard to prove or disprove as a tactic. That's kinda why I'm saying it doesn't really make sense to waste gold on the potion / potions.

Oh that's forgetting to mention the price of the potions actually lessens any advantage you gained from them. If it took you 3 potions to turn around and get that kill you've lost 150 g out of whatever the result is. It's a tactic that gives a gain in the short term but can have a cost in the long term.

I only get lifesteal early if im getting poked alot in lane or im vs a sustain lane that we failed to burst down (soraka/sona), but its more cost efficient than buying 3 doran blades. Technically the most cost effective way to go is to start cull and then get your two core items. But there is like whats better "economically" and whats better to have at the moment. Cost wont matter if youre losing and zoned 100% of the time.

Starting Items: item 1055 item 2003 1st Back: item 1083 item 1037 or item 1083 item 1036 item 1036 or item 1083 item 3057 or item 1083 item 1038 (depending on whether you want IE/ER/BotRK/TriForce or if you farmed long enough to afford a B.F Sword)

Then basically don't recall again until you finish your first item or you really want the next component of your first item.

You should never have to purchase more than 1 or 2 item 2003 as an AD Champion or Tank because you get so much natural sustain through your build and kit.
