Dealing with Brand?

Someone who played against him a lot please help me. I have no idea how to deal with the matchup against him.

Edit: Please be helpful. Don't say dumb stuff that's obvious and applies to half the champs in league. Specific things about Brand please.

As someone who absolutely LOVES to play Brand I'm going to say this right now, the champion is a difficult lane match-up but ONLY if its a good Brand. A good Brand will know how to use his passive with his abilities in order to maximize his damage while other brands will attempt to spam their abilities. Brand is definitely an early game lane bully. His first few levels can be quite punishing if you are not familiar with how his kit works. Key thing is to note when you have his passive (blaze) on you, play extra conservatively. It is what gives him that broken stun of his. However the key is that in order to maximize his damage he has to mark you with blaze, so against immobile champions he has that advantage but mobile champions can avoid blaze and exploit that. Brand himself is a very immobile champion and is easily target-able by assassins. (Zed is awful). So primarily, find a way to avoid being marked and exploit his cool downs and his immobility. I play Brand quite a bit and these weaknesses are what get me every time, especially if I don't have a good team to hide behind. GLHF!

...He's a medium range, low mobility mage reliant on skillshots to deal almost any of his damage. Don't pick an immobile mage against him, as he's going to win those fights. Pick someone with mobility, dance around his attacks, and murder him.

Tah da.

He has nightmarish mana costs pre chalice/athenes, if you can abuse them while avoiding poke from his passive, you should win the lane.

Mid laners I play often are: Lissandra, Syndra, Fizz, Zed, Lux and Yasuo.

I most recently got wrecked by a Brand playing Syndra so I'll rule her, Lux and Lissandra out. So Fizz, Zed and Yasuo?

And what about someone with even longer range? I play Xerath every now and then.
