Because it takes timing and forethought to use?

Because other abilities in the game you just press carelessly. <(?. ?< )

She is punished heavily for wasting riposte. I can think of many other champions with braindead abilities.

timing and fore thought like the darius pull? or even more hard to land a darius q? and as opposed to do true damage on a non ultimate abilty who has a full damage build path order? If you bother to go through all the posts down below and still feel like it to not remove that remark then good for you. Hope riot really goes this way from now on, wont be too long now b4 this game is done.

still a lot more balanced than windwall...

WINDWALL is balanced tho

Only Play Darius7 votes

So an unbreakable wall that can vaporize every single projectile in the game is balanced? LOL

That wall takes so much of his power budget that everything else about him has to be gimped.

65wQhMlGlT6 votes

Considering windwall has a longer cooldown than riposte, yes it is balanced. Just because people love to blow their ults on Yasuo knowing full well that his windwall is up doesn't make it OP.

Transgressor4 votes

There's nothing balance about windwall.

mmkay?

LordGeovanni2 votes

annoying doesnt mean unblanced the only thing unblanced is that porjetiles that already touch him if he casts gets caught

Transgressor2 votes

And that's the whole point. As if it wasn't broken enough when reaching it's place, it also blocks EVERYTHING during it's animation. Windwall actually starts from the center of Yasuo's hitbox and expands outwards until it reaches its destination. Practically you have a line projectile moving forward while getting longer at the same time. Yeah, a fucking CONE. HE BLOCKS EVERYTHING IN A CONE IN FRONT OF HIM, and it's on a basic ability.

Did you know, you could block from literally 360 degrees if you time windwall precisely, since it's starts from a point and expands outwards.

LankPants5 votes

Considering windwall has a longer cooldown than riposte

It's percentage up time is way higher though. At max rank it's up for 4 seconds with an 18 sec CD while Riposte is up for 0.75 with a 15 sec CD.

This means Windwall is up 22% of the time while Riposte is only up 5% of the time.

Also Riposte is way more punishable since Fiora is disabled for it's duration.

LordGeovanni2 votes

wind wall only works on enemy projectiles while riposte works on all sorces of damage and enemy spells wind wall more balanced. speaking of balanced you can walk to the left or right or straight through the wind wall

Transgressor1 votes

Riposte's invulnerability lasts like 0.75 of a god damn second, while fiora is rooted for the entirety for the ability cast. It also requires immense skill, timing and luck to utilize to its fullest. Windwall is a line projectile you can just pop, have it sit there and block for you while you yourself walk around on your leisure.

Re-evaluate your "balance" standards.

LordGeovanni2 votes

you and every one else . i like my standards right where they are this is the trade off you make when you choose the saftey of range

FistOfSharkiesha4 votes

It's not balanced it's actually one of the least balanced skills in the game. Against a fighter with no projectiles, it's worthless. Against a projectile mage like Ahri, it blocks HER ENTIRE KIT including auto attacks. Having wind wall off cooldown means being able to choose your battles and win without fail.

Lady Hammerlock1 votes

well its to make sure fiora doesn't get locked down during a team fight and you have to use it at the right time for it to do full value it is balanced in a way it doesn't last that long there is also the fact where people just blow out there skills in 1 go without even thinking even knowing she has it same concept as yasuo bait it out then crush'em

Quazzatomo1 votes

while a little BS, it does have its pros and cons, pros, it can block almost everything (I have blocked so many Fizz ults, Garen ults, and even a couple Darius ults, but they were all cause i know how, when and where they are gonna do stuff like that) so its all about knowledge and a bit of luck, the amount of times people juke out a Fiora to make her use here W is insane, and once used its gone for a long time, i think her passive is worse than the W, I mean % max health true damage XD. and while the W can be aggravating it was kinda there so if used right would completely change a fight like her ult. Also FYI the reason Fiora new build is what it is is to get rid of the Tank Meta in top lane, gotta keep the line chugging for the Metas, and without that W of hers the damage dealers at top lose damage if used wrong.

Yeah dude, I forgot Windwall can parry Wukong, Yasuo, and Malphite's R.

Baguette Rekt1 votes

Or lux ults, sol's ult, Yi's Q, etc.

It doesn't block any ability. It's not a complex spell, you just don't take any damage for the .75 seonds and can't be cc'd either - with the added bonus that if you were hit with a hard cc during the parry then your pary counterhit becomes a stun instead of a slow.

There isn't a list somewhere of what fiora 'can and can not parry'. She just can't take damage or be cc'd out of the dodge. Kind of like a super super short self cast only kayle ult + cc immunity.

Then why does it completely eat Mordekaiser's ultimate? I lost a duel a few days ago because her parry stopped my ult from applying not just a tick of damage. Put it on CD and everything.

IcyPepper3 votes

The window of time is .75 seconds. She just timed it perfectly in that case, or you were just unfortunate

shrugs

It doesn't just stop the damage, it stops the ability completely, if she is hit by a Damage over time ability, the entire ability will not happen, its not "Don't take any damage" cause that would infer that the ability like lets say morde R or cass Q or ignite, Will be inflicted on her and continue to deal damage after the window is over, but that's not the case, instead it blocks the entire ability.

Exactly

Bijorn3 votes

It blocks and mitigates every. Single. Ability. In the game when hit correctly. Dots do nothing. CC does nothing. Ignite goes on CD and does nothing.

You need to re-read the patch notes/actually play her and realize that it does in fact mitigate everything.

Baguette Rekt1 votes

except turret damage?

Ultîma4 votes

It's a spellshield, with a follow up attack. It's really not that complicated...

XeroKimo5 votes

It's more of invulnerability with a follow up attack, a .75 sec zhonyas without the untargitability

Ultîma2 votes

As far as invulnerability spells go, it's one of the shortest-lived ones, rather difficult to execute reliably, roots Fiora in place and has a reasonably hefty cooldown. Overall I feel as though when a Fiora is able to tell her opponent's stun and reverse it on them she is genuinely outplaying them as opposed to having access to a low-counterplay mechanic like windwall or pool/pole.

OMGACRYINGGEM1 votes

Mmm, it does root her, but if you didn't know, you can use it mid q :P

Ultîma1 votes

Look up my profile. I do know.

Moreover, what are you trying to say? A lot of champions are able to weave their skills in similar fashion, especially when it comes to melee duelists (Yasuo, Riven come to mind).

CrazedPorcupine3 votes

It's coded as a spell shield with the condition of successful block equals damage/slow in an AoE afterwards. That's why it can stop everything. Sivir can do everything that Parry can do as well with her spell shield, as can Nocturne.
