Draft mode is abusing support/fill players so hard this week
Not sure if this belongs in Gameplay or Player Behavior.
I don't know if it's the Ryze release or the Sona buffs or what the hell is going on, but people seem to be losing their minds. I'm talking level 30 players with hundreds of wins losing their minds.
And I'm not complaining specifically about the lack of runes...keystones...decent attitudes...although those missing things in certain combinations can be really annoying and feel like other players' time is being wasted.
This is about people just doing really crazy stuff. Like...a Vel'koz building Infinity Edge first item...doesn't build Guinsoo's Rageblade(the only AP he ever built) until his sixth item(he hung onto his Doran's Blade all game long instead of upgrading his lifesteal...). Not sure if it's legit or not but his friend Urgot went AP and Shen also went AP.
I mean, I don't own any of those champs but last I checked, Vel'koz had no AD ratios. Like Lux has no AD ratios. If you really want physical damage on them, it's probably best to get Iceborn Gauntlet so you can couple that physical damage with some defensive stat, or you can get a hybrid damage item like Guinsoo's Rageblade I guess. Sometimes you can get away with a Runaan's Hurricane if you have some special basic attack modifiers(it's actually legit on Bard and I used to get it on Jungle Karma for example although I don't own her so I don't know what I'd build now after all those jungle changes). But it's like...this guy literally built Static Shiv, Berserker's Greaves, and Trinity Force...on Vel'koz. I mean it just doesn't make any sense and he knows it.
The only reason he managed to get as many kills as he did was because I was a nice guy and picked up Rammus to reduce the enemy's armor. We lost miserably because the opponents actually had a mage doing his damn job. Ryze kind of walked all over us.
Funny thing was that despite us sort of winning a team fight here or there every once in a while, they had the nerve to all chat random insults at our opponents as if their skill and not mine as the Rammus support was why they were doing as well as they were. They thought they were winning but really they weren't. The game did get pretty close I might add but in the end we just couldn't quite do it. Perhaps if they took their opponents a bit more seriously and not acted like this was some sort of RPG challenge like no equiping materia in Final Fantasy 7 or something dumb like that...in a team game where not everyone agrees with your crazy idea then we could win.
But for some reason, I've seen a very high rise of players not trying to win lately. It's enough to keep me addicted to Hearthstone.
