I hate playing Normal game because of the sh!t matchmaking...

Daddy ReTaric··20 votes·10,097 views

Legit , I am gold 4, not the best, not the worst but when I want to play normal to practice new champions and get some more knowledge, I get teamed with people lower elos than me on my team, and I get matched against platinum 3+ , even Diamond... I can understand it's normal game so the elo might differ a bit but there is enought players to match Gold with Gold, Silver with Silver, Bronze with Bronze, etc... this kind of matchmaking is why people first time in ranked and try new stuff in ranked because you are matched against people of your elo. Facing people higher elo than you and your team , often result in 1 sided stomp and let's be honest... it's infuriating as hell. Fix this matchmaking already... I would like to be able to practice without feeling helpless every game..

Normals and Ranked have two different MMRs so that those high elo players aren't forced into hour long queues those rare times they do play normals.

Maybe but they should make a limit... Gold 4 players should get matched with S4 to Plat 5, not higher than that... It maybe have it own mmr but let's be honest, do you find it fun or fair to face people who will most likely faceroll you and your team without anything you can do ?

Then they have to wait hours to get a normal.

If you are going to use fun as a fact, then I'm allowed to ask if it would be fun to wait hours to get a normal.

You are exagerating thing... there is enought players to queue every elo together... it would take a best 10 minute...

Why would anyone wait that long to play a casual game?

Have you ever played PBE? Queue take 30 minute minimum .

Comparing PBE to live is dumb. Both have two completely different expectations from each other

Better a 10 min queue than a 15 min one sided stomp

oh yeah... and then no one plays the game since nobody is willing to wait10 minutes to play a CASUAL game. "oh but I will!" you might for the first few days, maybe even a month or two... then as more people stop playing due to long queue times the longer queue times will get. The you will have even longer and longer queue times and let's see your so called "I don't want 15 minute stomps!" It's NORMALS! you want "fair" matches go and play ranked

False. Lower Elos player don't have the same sync, coordination and game knowledge of platinum and above. Cooldown timing for exemple can be a win or lose experience . If the Diamond player play against a Silver, it's more often than not the Diamond will win because they know , enemy cooldown, they track spell cooldown , wait for their enemy to use an important spell to engage and so on. I higly doubt it's only from fucking up real bad.

TheSingularity3 votes

It wouldn't tale 10 minutes. Silver through plat are the most populated ranks, you remove everything above plat V and queue times would barely change at all

Nadeokí2 votes

Silver - plat yes, what about the other people???

TheSingularity1 votes

They should stay in ranked. Besides high elo queue times have always been long

Nadeokí1 votes

No, there is no limit because Normals are supposed to be fun where u can do whatever, like playing with friends, regardless of ranked EVERY game that has a competitive ranked system goes by the same concept: Overwatch CsGo Rocketleague Starcraft just to name a few

If you're playing norms after ranked, you should probably just make a new account, and grab your free 12 boxes from S+ing on the rampant number of bots in pre-30

I played a norm a few days ago (I'm Silver 4 to be the exact), and the rest of my team consisted of a medley of other ranks, including unranked, gold, plat, and diamond 2 player. In fact, many of the norms that I've played in the the last few days consist of plats and diamonds on both my team and the enemy team, and just by looking at my match history, it tends to be that these players out perform the lower ranks on their team (unsurprisingly). So while their norm MMR might be lower than usual, and my norm MMR might be higher than usual, it's incredibly frustrating because there's still a significant game-influencing skill discrepancy between a silver 4 and a diamond 2 player.

It's Normals, why care?

Targon2 votes

You could say something similar for ARAM and TT too. Why care? You can even say it for ranked and instead argue, "it's just a game, why care?" The whole defeatist attitude or just not caring at all is what is ruining the fun of League of Legends. So I care because poor matchmaking (even in casual norms) is a poor gameplay experience, both for the a person up to 4 ranks higher getting stomped, and for the player 4 divisions higher doing the stomping.

I'm Silver 1, just spent all day trying random stuff in non-ranked. Got players from Iron to Diamond, I suspect the only reason I didn't see higher is they just didn't happen to Q up at the same time.

The teams weren't even matched, most were top 5 players on one team, and bottom 5 on the other, or close. There's literally 0 MMR in Unranked, it's random matchmaking.

I suspect for top players this is great as they'll win almost all their games, and it must be absolute hell for bottom players. I manage to be close enough to the middle to sometimes get either end of the stick without causing too much of a swing either way.

It would be the best if this was a choice. If you tick "balanced skill level" you'll get slightly longer queue but a lot better games.

Some will decide to not tick it and they'll be left to play with the high ranked people. Obviously the high ranked people won't have ticked it unless they were looking for adventure.

Good q times and quality matches for everyone!

Dukues1 votes

ranked is worse lmfao. At least you don't lose lp when you lose norms

Nadeokí1 votes

Here we go again.

  1. Matchups are based on MMR however, in normals exists no Premade elo difference limit. You could be diamond and Queue up with a friend who just installed the game making it unbalanced for sure but that's Normals....

  2. If you want to practise things in a competitive enviroment JUST PLAY RANKED. Oh and if your precious rank shouldn't be adjusted due to lost games from practise PLAY FLEX RANKED

There isn't something in Normals that's supppsed to be Competitive, it's normals.

Fuck all those awful players downvoting the people simply explaining the system.

As ironic as it sounds, but if you want "fair" games then go play ranked. You'll play with similarly skilled players guaranteed. You have no right to complain when playing a casual mode.

Actually yes we do. There is people who only play normals. They have no right to say anything ? I doubt it.

No, it's not. Normal MMR is almost entirely useless.

The system prioritizes fast match ups, so if a high MMR player queues, it just says 'fuck it' and throws them into a game with a bunch of Silver players after a few minutes, instead of waiting for more high MMR players to queue.
