@Riot: Is Diana in a good spot?

I personally love playing Diana and think she's a great champion, while also being one of the more balanced champions. However, not everyone seems to have the same opinions about her as I do. I keep hearing how OP her burst is and that she needs to be gutted / reworked. She's starting to see a lot more play than she use to and is getting banned quite frequently now. I'm curious, what are your current thoughts on Diana?

Please don't bring attention to her. I don't want anything changing about her.

Not because she's completely balanced, but because I feel like Riot will fck something up while trying to "fix" it.

As a jungler she's fine (You should try Sated Diana it's good fun). However, as a midlaner she can be a bit overwhelming, especially against assassins, as she becomes this brick wall that you can't do anything about and will not only survive your burst but also kill you if you try to make any moves against her. Against mages, she essentially becomes old Akali who does absolutely nothing levels 1-5 but once she reaches level 6 she can instantly jump on your face and there's nothing you can do about it.

Personally I think the main problem with Diana isn't actually her kit itself. It's that being an AP fighter, she gets so much better itemization choices then her AD fighter brethren (same reason Rumble was one of the best LCS toplaners for so long, he simply had better build options than most bruisers in the game). The juggernaut rework finally introduced some custom-tailored AD fighter items to help make them competitive, but their item options still pale in comparison to AP. Particularly item 3157, it's an item that I think is frankly just unhealthy in the overall game and on top of boosting Diana's shield strength, it lets her survive shit that she otherwise has no right to be getting away with. They either need to create an AD version of hourglass or remove it from the game.

She's too strong, imo. Her scaling is too good.

I think Diana is in a good spot. While she is one of the stonger assassins when built as a bursty midlaner, she still isnt that strong in this tank dominated meta. If she doesn't kill (heck even if she kills) her target she will not be able to get out. Devourer Diana is better against takes, she just melts tanks with sated. but then again sated will always be op so long as the phantom strike counts as a basic attack.

Yes, burst down enemies while getting Shit for free. Kinda like annie but Diana is more respectable.

i'm not sure how I feel about diana. I feel she is very oppressive currently in lane once she hits 6. as jelly said with the reference to akali.

but the burst is exaggerated. She cannot just one shot you the moment she hits 6. she is strong, but the one shot doesnt happen. you can itemize against her and survive the lane. the real problem for most people is like akali. she snowballs really hard. 80% ap scaling on passive, i mean you get nashors or lich bane and thats 100-130% ap scaling on just her auto attack not including her Q and other damages. her burst is real, her shield makes her somewhat tanky (she will still explode in a lot of team fights if she doesn't build zhonyas and isnt' super far ahead.

I feel diana is punishable and beatable, so in a relatively good spot, but the ratios on her passive might be a teensy bit high.
