How would you make the items from BMB balanced on SR?

The title, how would you make those items balanced on SR?

I for one hope RIOT keeps some and re-introduces other items from BMB,it' such a shame to just remove those items when they could be tweaked and used in the game regulary.

Apart from item 3924 which is quite broken (huge sustain + infinite scaling giving around 80+ AD in lategame for a 1500g item? please) I love the other items and find them pretty fun. Some might be quite too powerful though.

Apart from this, all others could be balanced and tweaked.

both martyrs gambit and typhoon claws are also too op to consider keeping. weve banned vayne and kallista in every blackmarket brawlers game i played. the one game i played kallista was ridiculous with the item.

martyrs gambit turns champs that are supposed to be squishies really fuckin tanky, while keeping their damage output. if you wanted to keep that, then all their damage would have to´be cut by 60% for the duration aswell. and then it would probably still be op, considering how strong it is against burst damage.

hypercarries with 60% damage reduction. no thank you.

Dead mans plate is pretty balanced I think and would help alot of champions.

could use some tweaks aswell. either lose the slow and make the damage portion more noticable, or lose the damage and buff some of the other parts of the item, like the slow, the top speed or base stats.

because right now, the damage portion on the item feels weird and underwhelming and its trying to do too many things at once.

considering that its primarily a fighter item (offensie + defense) and a mobility item, i dont think it needs the slow, and they might be able to buff the damage.

one possibility would be to have the damage (and maybe even movement speed bonus; 100 by midgame are a lot) scale up with champion level.

item 3911 item 3742 item 3745 item 3829

All of these introduced unique mechanics that I feel have a place. Gambit is a very unique item that is perfect for tank supports. I think it needs only tweaks to prevent tank supports from going overboard with it. Dead Man's definitely needs tweaking, as the slow is too powerful with the damage being pretty unnoticeable. It can potentially be our first balanced AD + Armor item. Puppeteer finally did something everyone was saying would NEVER EVER happen: Hard CC on an item. It should be tweaked with the goal of becoming an AP bruiser item. Trickster's Glass is overall difficult to fit into most support's build. Even on one's that can get it, most would rather finish it into Liandry's much later on. The mechanic in general will be difficult to balance, but hopefully its stats can add something else to make it more attractive.

TG could function similar to Eve's passive.

FantasySniper1 votes

Eve's passive is toxic as hell, giving people access to the same mechanic with an item won't ever be balanced unless you restrain its power to extremely situational use like "after destroying a ward, you are invisible to all stealth wards for a short amount of time"

You misunderstood me,good sir. I meant that item 3829 stay mostlsy tha same, but gets a vision range added where enemies see through it and see you as you. Was that clear?Im kidna drunk,Sry

I think the item is fine as is, but it's more of a tank than a support item, galio for example might love this item.

PokladnicaZla2 votes

AP assassins must love it aswell....

FantasySniper1 votes

It works on AP in general, which is why when someone can pick it up, it simply isn't as attractive as a item 3001 or item 3151 .

RIP Tahm Kench1 votes

I took it on AD champions that have ap scaling abilities, just so at the start of a teamfight I can pose as a tank to avoid exploding to assassins.

FantasySniper1 votes

I saw some pulling off that cheese, but would you really reccomend doing it outside of BMB? Very few AD champs naturally benefit from the AP and Mag.Pen.

RIP Tahm Kench2 votes

Probably Varus is the only one it would be good with, his % magic damage usually does low damage because he doesn't get Mpen, and it would help out immensely with avoiding damage because he has no natural escape.

IGotScuttleCrabs2 votes

Id have to throw Kog in this as well. Even less escape then Varus. As good Ap use. I can see it working.

FantasySniper1 votes

Let's throw in Ezreal and maybe even Miss Fortune.

IGotScuttleCrabs1 votes

Ehhh.... Ez has a good escape. And MF only does good magic damage when she builds enough of it doesn't she?

FantasySniper1 votes

Her passive does magic damage scaling off of her AD.

If it really mattered about the optimal build for them, you could probably only get away with it on Kog'Maw.

had a game where the enemy katarina was using it.

Their team was already snowballing hard, so they won.

item 3742 : I like this one, I think it's pretty balanced as is. (though I'm not certain)

item 3924 : I think Devourer is a good example of why Infinity weapons arn't a good idea. But the item itself seems intresting. What if we created a different iteration of this item, where it becomes Sated after a certain AD limit has been reached. (say 80 AD) And then make the Flesh eater active work on champs once it's sated. (just tossing ideas around)

item 3829 : I'm a little unsure about this one. It's a pretty fun item for the mind games. But is mind games really something we want to support in League as a whole? (at least on the level of this item.)

item 3745 : Seems like a lot of crowd control put on an item.

item 3744 : Seems way to niche.

item 3911 : My guess is that the active needs a way longer cooldown. The ability to reduce a carry's damage seems like it would be up too often.

Maybe item 3744 could an aczive which drains your mana, but restores the mana to an ally. Many were sad to see Soraka's mana restoring ability go,this could be a comeback.

Maybe, but that seems a little bonkers paired with an item that has mana font. When I was toying with the idea of a mana battery item, I was thinking it should build out of tear. But in that scenario, the tear wouldn't finish stacking until a point where mana is rarely a problem.

And over all, it's difficult to make an effective Mana item for supports when Mikale's is so massively useful. Mikale's active is so useful for saving a carry, that it basically a must by at the higher Elos. I recalled when Riot initially increased it's gold cost so that it wouldn't be such a must buy item. But it's still immensely popular.

item 3744 = item 3113 + item 3114 ?

I thought about making this item a niche when playing with an ADC-caster.The recipe changed and made the users mana lower, but can drain your mana and give it to an ally. It's not just puff, ally get mana out of nowhere, you give him/her your mana, which in some situations can leave defenseless and in other a game changer.

I mean this is(and will stay) an idea, doubt that we will even get a RED.

the problem isnt when it reduces a carries damage. the problem is, when it reduces the damage to a carry.

how do you stop an ad carry with 60% damage reduction?

PokladnicaZla1 votes

Well the CD could be inscreased and the duration lowered.

DrCyanide1 votes

item 1341 : Can only Teleport to Ally Towers (potentially lower cooldown)

PokladnicaZla1 votes

Would that be a smart idea? Imagine Shen or any other laner who has an ulty similar to a teleport +those botos, there would be no need to use TP as summoner and would allow those champs to use anothe or even worse 2 TP +R .

DrCyanide1 votes

The question was how to balance the boots to bring them out of a gamemode and into a normal game, correct?

The change forces the boots to be a defensive item (as oppose to their current multi-purpose). They gets more and more restricted the longer the game goes on (the more towers you loose), so they're best early, thus the shorter cooldown.
