My vision score is almost always really strong, I setup great and useful vision, my KDA is normally good, yet I feel so held back as a support main in low elo.

How my games go: we have a really strong early game, bot lane pressure, winning in cs, more plates taken; I get sums from the enemy mid, and vision in the enemy jg; but once we get to after lane my team wants to brainlessly fight and throw the whole game and refuse to listen to anything I say or do. What can I do to have more of an impact in my games?

Any and all input welcome.

EDIT: Prime example - https://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/3045383919/234614249?tab=overview

Early was okay, top fed, mid got ahead, bot was okay after we got jungle pressure, but my vision score was subpar.

Look at our teamcomps, all game I said walk as 5 we hard win. Syvana dive the backline, I mantra e, and veiger and ez have a free cleanup. But no, all game they ran off, split, chased, and facechecked and threw the entire game. What am I supposed to do about this? How is it possible to climb out of low elo? I dont understand what I can do differently to change the outcome of my games.

So I don't think you'll find success unless you play something like Lux, Brand, Vel or Zyra in low elo. Pyke needs some setup to use his ult sometimes so it's less consistent

Ultimately if you play something that facilitates damage, you rely on a team mate to do the right things in a given situation, there's a coinflip there in low elo

If you play something with it's own set up and damage, that input in a fight is entirely on you, it's not a coinflip because your input has a direct result on the outcome of the game

I also think they're better in lane and skirmishes because people don't really know cooldowns or attack move so you get frostfang procs quite easily. Everyone knows Ali combo is like 10sec, what's the cd on Brand Q?

Early? About 9 seconds? Later I'd guess like 5.

My issue when I play damaging supports, my vision score and macro suffer (that's my fault, and with time I'll get better at it) I tend to play worse when I play champs like Brand or Vieg and feed more often, but that's on me as a player and something I guess I need to improve with if I want to get out of low elo. Thank you

What are your top three supports??

Karma and Nami are the only 2 I take super seriously, but if I had to pick a 3rd I'd say Neeko

I’m only gold so take everything with a grain of salt. And I play more like melee supports like braum and thresh.

But what I’ve seen is as a support you have control of the early lane. You make space so your adc can farm up. Hold cc because the threat of cc is a mind game for the enemy (of course use it when you know it’s time).

Now you mentioned after lane phase is where things get rocky. That’s the hardest because you can’t control others. But you can set them up for some success. When you can ward jg on frequent spots where people path by. And try to play with or near your team. That way you can ward on one side more so. It’s best to try and corral your team with wards because they are more likely to play near vision and objectives. And play around your squishy carries. Be glued to them. That’s what has helped me get wins when I’m autofilled support. I played support but liked more bruisers.

Again take things with a grain of salt. And watch some streamers or youtubers who specialize in higher elo support.

got to learn how to close out games. warding the shit out of drag and rift/baron should give everyone the hint to take the god damn objectives. but hey at least your not the teams personal slave the jungler, where everyone feeds then wanders why you wont gank a 6/0 akali.

I try but people refuse to listen, they'd rather sit mid lane and wait for something to happen
