The LoL Client is disgusting garbage and badly needs to be fixed

Client glitches I have found in 1 week (I've been getting more and more glitches over time, these are just the ones I bothered to record):

  • crashes immediately after exiting spectate mode (sends message claiming that an update needs to be done etc.)
  • client refuses to let me change position roles in queues
  • refuses to load postgame stats and crashes when choosing 'skip waiting for stats' option
  • refuses to load menu for practice tool
  • refuses to load practice tool
  • client won't let me view or change runes in champ select
  • client won't let me select any queue when I want to play (i.e. if I want to play 'ranked solo/duo' the client won't let me select it. This also happened in Swifte's stream)
  • client loads black screen instead of champ select. This is a newer glitch and has forced me to dodge at least half a dozen times in the last three days
  • client sometimes doesn't load friendlist or chat, claiming there's a connection issue when there isn't
  • shop doesn't always load, as do numerous other images, videos etc. in the client - also claiming a nonexistent connection issue

other issues:

  • occasional extreme lag during champ select
  • lag when opening client
  • lag when signing in on client
  • lag when opening the shop
  • client taking up as much space as Google Chrome with multiple tabs open.

(I don't know how much of the lag is due to my toaster laptop or the client being a space gobbling, over-designed behemoth but there you go lul)

It's ridiculous that the client is this terrible, especially for a game as popular as LoL and it's disgraceful that Riot won't even acknowledge the issue despite dozens of threads about it. Not to mention, the client has become glitchier, laggier, and generally worse over time.

Please fix

Back when Rito made a new client they asked for bug reports and feedback, which most of it they ignored

Check the "close while ingame" option. It fixed a lot of performance issues and bug splats etc. for me. The cost is that after a game it takes like half a minute to open the honor screen.

I still don't understand what was wrong with the legacy client. It was perfect. It just maybe needed some update on it's UI but the overall functionality of it worked perfectly.

They won't even fix half the bugs in this game. It's one huge mess of code that they have no intention of actually looking at and trying to fix.

I'm still getting the problem when the client restores to a previous version every time I open the application. Wastes 10 minutes each day when I could be in a game

You want rito to fix some client bugs?

they have no time for that. they are in the other hand will make you more skins and piss colored prestige skins because they need more money.

i have the client crash daily while simply being open in the backround. im doing nothing with it, its just open and it crashes.

when can we have the legacy client back

Mine crashed at champ select yesterday, didn't get to set runes. I don't get why the client is so unresponsive, it seems worse every patch.

Hey dude if the client is black screening you or dissapears from view sometimes you can do something that will fix the problem but you have to wait a lilttle if the client is black go into your task manager right click down in the task bar and select task manager or another way of acessing is by ctrl+alt+delete and selecting task manager or ctrl+shift+escape when you open task manager go into the processes tab and find LeagueClientUxRender Terminate the rendering process that has the most usage on your memory RAM for example it will say 700,000k end this one and what will happen is the client will re render and it will re appear in view in around 1 minute max but if you notice lag give it some seconds it still renders the graphics i hope i was helpful to ya all thanks for reading. :)

Well. Client is shit as fuck. If you have another program open, anything, and you close and reopen Leauge client then it sometimes refuses to load, then it thinks that it is broken and tries to fix itself, which takes like 10 min, because it is downloading the patch once again and fixing itself ... like wtf. I get it so often that I know how to behave when it happens and how to avoid it. I just need to wait a little bit before reopening the client because it is shit and it needs time to close itself properly.

Also client lags a lot. Not due to internet connection. It just does. Spaghetti code. Probably another Mordekaiser bug xd

It costed me 17 LP yesterday. Never loaded into game, then bumped me into a post-game screen for remake.

I'm surprised you have that many glitches, my laptop is literal toaster and I encounter less glitches (my laptop is so bad that I have to run my game at very low graphics). But in my case, I think my old and trash laptop is the problem, not the client's fault.
