8w 2l = Bronze 5

First off let me get the pertinent information out of the way. I finished last season in B5 and at the highest point was around B3. Also, I know that the start of a new season always pushes people down lower than the previous season. That being said, what is the point of spending 10 games worth of time if in the end you are preordained to be B5?

I would much rather prefer to hit a button, skip placements, and start in B5 straight away vs having to play all 10 games. I completely understand that the system is in place to help balance the vast player base that makes up ranked, yet I can't help but feel it is slightly broken.

My biggest case in point is the fact I went 8w-2l in my solo/duo placements yet still only hit B5 with 0 LP; on the flip side I went 5-5 in Flex and also ended up B5. To me that seems like a complete waste of my time and effort if after ending on a 6 game win streak I am rewarded with 0 LP and no upward momentum. Again, I get that Riot has to take a blanket approach to ranked but this placement record discrepancy is something I hope they seriously consider addressing next year, if not sooner.

The climb out of B5 is brutally long one, as anyone in Bronze will tell you. Going into it players should be allowed to skip placements and start playing worthwhile games right away. That way, if they start racking up wins then at least they are making the LP that goes along with it rather than a cold pat on the back that placements provide when announcing you are starting your journey in B5.

The first 10 match of placement also determine how much LP you should be earning

If you do good in placement chances you will earn 25-35LP per win even if you do get place low

Challenger players all mostly got placed Plat 1 if not Plat 5. And they earn at least 35LP or more max to get back to Challenger

Don't worry about that, it's still better for you, just keep going and good luck!
