Is Blitzcrank being considered for a rework at all?

Yes, this post IS motivated by the fact that I just got my ass handed to me by a "support" Blitzcrank that went Lichbane/Gunblade and literally killed everyone on my team. But that doesn't invalidate that he really does need a rework. He's been one of the top banned champions for as long as I can remember, with his only counterplay being "dodge the grab." WAY too much of his power budget is crammed into his Q, while the rest of his kit is lackluster in comparison. And to make matters worse, the ratios on his abilities are insane. I mean....100% ratios on three of his four main abilities? What? He builds anything that isn't tank and he's going to melt your carries by himself.

And that's something that confuses me. In the client, he's classified as a "tank," but you can literally build anything on him. AD Fighter? His E will do 100% damage. AP mage? Go for it, his hook and ult will melt you before you can even blink. Tanky? He can do that too and let his team do the killing. I get that he's a Disruptor and is meant to mess up your positioning and punish you for your mistakes. I don't have a problem with him landing a good hook because he positioned well or you positioned poorly. He should be rewarded for doing his job. HOWEVER, I do have a problem with there being literally next to nothing you can do if he manages to hook you. The standard Blitz combo is simple; Q into E into ult. Three buttons and that's enough to take out most (or all, depending on the build) of a squishy's health bar. Now it's fair he takes three abilities to do that, but when you're not given the chance to get away or fight back, that's not exactly fun to play against.

And his current kit isn't exactly fun for Blitzcrank, either. A bad Blitz is completely useless if he can't land his hooks (or if the enemy team is good enough to block them) but a good Blitz is literally unstoppable and the most frustrating thing to fight, especially if you're the immobile squishy. But isn't it kind of a bad design if a champion is extremely reliant on just one ability? Other champions have been reworked for the precise reason that they were too reliant on one ability - Sejuani is the most recent one who comes to mind. Blitz has got what I call the "Yasuo Syndrome" - you don't necessarily want one on your team if he sucks, but you don't want to face a good one, either. It's not very fun for a Blitz if they're constantly getting hook-blocked by a team with shields and good positioning, but it's not exactly very fun for the enemy when the Blitz is on point (or going with some kind of super cheese build just to piss you off).

I think his kit overall is just a mess. He's not fun to play against, kinda linear in that you pretty much just use the same combo over and over and over again, occasionally using your W to try and catch up to an immobile squishy so you can hook them, and he has way too much power into his Q. That Q of his is the reason why I think he's just so out of whack. I don't mind that he's able to build with such versatility, I just wish he had more counterplay to him than currently. Are there any plans to give Blitz some changes so he's not so damn frustrating to play against, and maybe allow for a bit more leeway with his kit?

He's badly designed. Riot's known this and admitted to it, but other champions are demonstrably higher priority than him. I hope he'll get looked at eventually so he's not mindnumbingly boring to play as and against.

I personally find playing blitzcrank fun. Even if I miss 90% of my hooks, he is still a fun champion for that one good hook you do hit. Granted, you are right this is a very linear play. I get the good hook and hopefully win or I just run around... like any other support. Not sure what you expect him to do.

I also don't find him nearly as bad as "Yasuo Syndrome." Maybe because my team hasn't been destroyed by him recently. But at my ELO, the most recent blitzcranks have just been there and doing alright. They aren't tilting the game or 1v5ing anyone. But I am sure there are some good enough to do so. And maybe I tilted people with level 1 cheese, idk.

Thresh was released to be Blitzcrank 2.0.

Now we just need Blitzcrank to be reworked to being Thresh 2.0 and we're in for some fun.

q- sends out his arm. tap again to bring enemy, or SPECIFIC ally (it would generally pass through allies to grab enemies, or you can save teammates by clicking on them specifically)

w- toggle. consumes mana while being used

r- lower cd, increase range, lower base, up ratios. if your passive is activated while you still have r, it sends out a shield to all allies (low ratios based on mana)

passive- make it lower cd, or turn it into a cotc set up where every ability gives you a small shield.
