Marksmen Subclasses

So awhile ago, Riot released a list of subclasses that better define what a champion's strengths and weaknesses are, and what role they serve to fill on a team. Of the six main classes (Fighters, Mages, Slayers, Controllers, Tanks and Marksmen), only marksmen haven't been divided into subclasses, despite having a pretty wide array of play style available. I've been thinking about what sort of subclasses for marksmen should exist, and I think I've got a good list here. Let me know what you think!

For marksmen, I can divide them into three subclasses: Quickshots, Spellslingers and Snipers.

Quickshots are probably what you think of first when you think of ADCs - squishy, immobile, but builds lots of damage and attack speed. Usually have a poor early game, but an exceptional late game. They don't rely on their abilities for damage, but more for utility and setting up for a kill. They don't really have any self-peel, though, and will more than likely die if caught out alone. Most marksmen seem to fall in this subclass. Examples: Ashe Vayne Sivir

Spellslingers are champions who weave their abilities in along with auto attacks in order to get the best damage output. They rely a bit more heavily on their abilities than other marksmen, and tend to be a bit more capable of taking care of themselves. Their late game tends to not be quite as good as Quickshots, but they do very well mid game. Examples: Ezreal Lucian MissFortune

Snipers excel at dealing damage from long range. This makes them particularly difficult to catch, especially if they're with their team, and they can make an impact on fights even when they're not immediately visible. However, if they do get caught out, they are even more screwed than other marksmen are. Their strongest point varies, but mid game seems to be where they struggle most. Examples: Caitlyn Jhin Twitch

A more complete list of all marksmen champions taken straight from the Champion Subclass List Here would be as follows:

Quickshots: Vayne Ashe Sivir Jinx Kalista Kindred Draven Quinn (hybrid Assassin) Kayle (hybrid Enchanter) Azir (hybrid Disruptor) Mini Gnar

Spellslingers: Ezreal Lucian Miss Fortune Kog'Maw (hybrid Quickshot) Corki Graves (hybrid Skirmisher) Tristana (hybrid Quickshot) Urgot (hybrid Disruptor)

Snipers: Cailtyn Jhin (hybrid Burst Mage) Twitch (hybrid Assassin) Varus

Let me know what you think about this in the comments! Do you agree? Who do you think belongs where? Remember, these aren't ironclad, and just meant to provoke conversation and thought. I'd love to hear what people think. ^^

Ok, these are much better names than I thought of.

Quinn is probably the most mobile marksman in the game, I don't think she belongs under Quickshots, especially since she's stronger early/mid game than late game. Vayne, Kindred, Azir, Mini Gnar and Kalista aren't exactly immobile either.

Another thing you mentioned about Quickshots is that they have no self-peel, yet some of the Champions you listed under that subclass have the strongest self-peel in the game, like Ashe's Enchanted Crystal Arrow, Azir's Emperor's Divide or Vayne's Condemn.

I feel spellslingers is a little redundant, but I don't play lots of ADC. Still, you could probably sort all the spellslingers into the other subclasses.

Where do you think other non-ADC marksmen fit? So Teemo, Azir, and maybe Cassiopeia?

I guess Teemo would be a spellslinger, and Azir maybe a sniper? Cass would be closest to Quickshot, I guess.
