Camille picked as a support is not a sign of anything. I've tried it when she first came out, and while I can see it having situational uses, she's terrible at the role. She has absolutely no peel other than her E, and her CDs are a little too high for her to be effective. Real supports can counter her at pretty much every aspect and can do anything she can do better. The ideal for a Camille support is hoping to do well and allowing her to start building as an offensive off-carry, but getting to that point without botching your lane is very very difficult, and not worth the effort unless you have a really kick ass ADC.
Malzahar and Miss Fortune, likewise, are situational supports, and they are gimmicky, and outclassed by pretty much every real support.
Zyra has been a legit support going on 3 years now (since her launch). Why is this still shocking to people?
