The only ADC with a lower pick rate than Koggy is Quinn

One might think that an environment that favors tanky derps would be good for him, but nope. Vayne does the Tank Buster thing better while Jinx does the long-range auto attack thing better. Yeah, Vayne has less range, but she's got self-peel for miles. Yeah, Jinx does less single target damage, but her range is more reliable and her early game is FAR stronger.

What Koggy needs is a niche that isn't getting trampled all over. He needs something that he is the undisputed best at among his peers.

Best poke. Best tank-buster. Best super-long range auto attacks.

Take one of those aspects and run with it.

Well he is a unique ADC in that his Armor/MR reduction on top of all his %HP damage of both magic and physical makes him impossible to build against.

Oh wait Vayne

He's been getting picked in pro games pretty regularly, so I don't think there's really a problem with his power level or his niche.

When there's a huge disconnect in effectiveness between play levels, that's usually indicative of a remake of some kind being needed. See: Olaf, Xin, Yi, ect. And most of the play Koggy sees in the pro-level is AP Mid. This topic is about ADC Kog.

No, he's been getting picked as ADC. And what's the disconnect exactly? His lack of popularity at lower elos?

Source? Numbers I was looking at had him somewhere around a 60/30 split mid vs bottom.

If by 'lower' you mean Platinum and above, yeah.

He's nonexistent in Solo. A champion that works decently at the tippity top of hyper-organized competitive play and is a non-factor literally everywhere else is a problem. That's the whole reason why Olaf got reworked.

Its because of solo queue people don't get the concept of scaling. If you go even on a scaling champ you win. So people take ample risk and lose lane to hard for them to scale properly. I see this with nasus alot trying to duel gnar/teemo/riven alot even though at 30 mins and 500+ stacks they will 1v5 the enemy team.

I play him Middle Lane whenever I play him since his AP Scaling is really good.

  1. This topic is about ADC Koggy.
  2. His AP scaling isn't really good. Annie's AP scaling is really good. AP Koggy is just great at abusing Echo and Rylai's.
  3. There is no third point.
  4. Riot has had a nasty habit of smashing AP Kog in the face any time it pops up in competitive. I'm kind of surprised they haven't nerfed him into the gutter yet for having the audacity to waddle into mid-lane.

Where did you get your info? According to OP.GG, Kog is ahead of Twitch and Quinn and barely behind Varus.

As for Kog, he is OP if anything. He has stupid long poke and melts tanks better than any champ in the game when using his W, Kog is the main ADC I use and it doesn't even matter if he has a bad laning phase, once he hits 11 he proceeds to destroy the other team if he has any peel at all.

Champion.gg

It only tracks stats at the platinum+ level. Different sites use different statistical pools.

Also: Vayne does more damage to targets above 120 resist, even counting Koggy's %resist shred. And her %HP true damage doesn't have a cooldown. If her Ult is up, she also does more damage to targets below 120 resist.

And have you ever seen what Fiora does to tanks?

It's obscene.
