Spirit Visage has less HP than its components

item 3067 = 200 item 3211 = 250 item 3065 = 425

You gotta stop doing this, Riot. You had the right idea with Hurricane by changing the build path. If you don't want something to have particular stats, then make it build out of something else. This stuff isn't hard.

Rito math is good job, awesome!

How does something like that get past a company that makes billions of dollars? ._.

Zhonyas build could give like 110 AP and zhonyas itself only gave 70 before they changed the build path a few months ago.

Funkin Dunkin1 votes

Didn't Zhonas used to be 100 AP?

Oelyk9 votes

from 120 to 70. Yeah.

FilDaFunk11 votes

You can see why mage players are upset.

Oelyk3 votes

TBH, the death book got significantly buffed, ludens became a thing, idk, everthing is pretty swell and zhonyas is not a first item thing anymore or must buy.

Mhihnj22 votes

maybe if health was calculated in dollars.....Riot could count it like they count their money.

Jesus Christ, dude... It's a smallest mistake that can be overlooked easily. It's not a cause for concern and no forest fires need to be put out because oh lord, you're missing 25 HP in your build by upgrading from Spirit Visage's components to the full item.

Yes, this needs to be addressed. But what's your comparison supposed to mean here? I see no correlation between Riot being a "multibillion" dollar company and this.

LordGeovanni9 votes

Human error right. Dont mind that it has to pass the balance and play test teams in every region at id thing that is at least 25 people for the 3 regions in thinking of if their team numbers arent a only 2-3 people per team per region. Never make a mistake with marksmen items though only intentional overbuffs there.

How did players on the pbe miss it too?

Sometimes they don't miss it. Sometimes they point it out and Rito ignores them and pushes it live anyway cuz they gotta make dem deadlines.

Chromatic Eagle9 votes

You'd be surprised at what slips past people who code constantly.

The Lost Marbles29 votes

I mean, it's only 25 HP, so it's not like it's a huge oversight.

Plus, Visage literally gives you +290% HP5, so the effective durability it grants is significantly higher anyway.

(It would still be nice if the HP was evened out, though.)

(Also, as an aside, finishing Sterak's while your base AD is below 83 actually lowers your AD, but this is usually not relevant for the intended users.)

AirKingNeo28 votes

25 HP is still a good amount of HP.

Aatrox would kill for that.

Let's be honest, Aatrox would kill anything.

Why do I get downvoted? lol the item having less HP than it's components, it does not make sense... What's wrong with saying it?

Because fuck logic?

I actually think stuff like this is good.

Items shouldn't be about efficiency but how valuable the active/effect is. It makes the game better and it removes some of the snowball potential of merely getting items. New GA is also the same; technically gold inefficient but the revive slot is what the meat is about.

Baron of Bread49 votes

The new GA doesn't give you worse stats for combining it. The fact that I spend gold to lose HP is pretty bogus.

Need Gold 4 Tent2 votes

that was the old madred's though. i recall it being item 1043 item 1037 and the old jungle razor which did give some AD, but the final item only had 25 AD equivalent of just the item 1037 alone. The AD drop was justified by the 4% max hp damage it did, which sort of made sense I guess, but SV passive isn't even that great to warrant a stat drop.

Sire Hippington4 votes

At some point it actually gave less ad than it's components, though later it was buffed to 40ad so it would match it's components.

macromite1 votes

gonna be real with you, tanks never bought spirit for its affect. they got it becuase it was the most efecient magic resist item.

ModCaptainMårvelous1 votes

Which IMO is fucking stupid. You should buy items to fit the situation. Not "I'm buying this because it's the most bang for buck". Especially in a strategy game.

its not stupid if the item is the best bang for your buck and the best for the situation at the same time.

ModCaptainMårvelous1 votes

Read:

If it's the best for the situation? Good, go for it. Buying the item simply because it's the best is awful design. (And Riot STILL has this problem with stuff like Deadman's plate)

JSTIN82 votes

To be fair, tanks like move speed items a lot (Hi naut). Dead mans is a far cry from a generic stat pickup like SV

macromite3 votes

it would be less of an issue of the other mr items weren't all memes.

MrHaZeYo10 votes

That is kinda weird.

Oksanaandjoy7 votes

Not to mention Nomad's Medallion item 3096: item 3301 + item 1004 = 25% health regen. Huh?

LankPants4 votes

In this case I'd just say you should bump SV by 25 HP. It's probably the worst of the MR/HP items ATM anyway and it sets itself apart with a higher HP value, so it seems like this wouldn't be a terrible solution. If you need to boost the price by a potion or so to do this, who really cares?

Krinu5 votes

Yeah, just throwing +25HP on it is really the simplest solution.

DuskDaUmbreon7 votes

It's probably the worst of the MR/HP items ATM anyway.

There are two now three of those in SR: item 3065, item 3001, and item 3194. Spirit visage gives over double the health, and the average MR. It also has, you know, it's universal healing boost. It's not bought for HP, it's bought for imperial shittons of regen. Yes, imperial shittons. We've gone past metric shittons.

Just build from the Ruby Crystal and not the Kindlegem. That's -50 HP from the item, so the component HP is 400 and the item HP is 425. And since CDR isn't a basic stat anyway, losing the Kindlegem's CDR doesn't matter since that stat is always added in combines.

The CDR does matter though. A lot of tanks value the CDR on Spirit; tank items are pretty limiting in the CDR area as is. If the CDR was gone from Visage, I think the only true tank item left with CDR would be Frozen Heart and Warmogs. I don't really consider Iceborn Gauntlet a "tank" item; its a bruiser item. They could just lower how much health Specter's Cowl gives instead.

Magearna1 votes

That's not what he was saying. He's saying make the recipe Cowl + Ruby so there isn't any HP discrepancy and have the end result Spirit Visage just be what it is now.

Where would it get the CDR if you changed it to Ruby? He's saying remove the CDR entirely.

Need Gold 4 Tent4 votes

CDR isn't a basic stat, like he said, it already appears as the "bonus" for completing the item with the combine cost. The same concept happens with item 3071 , which only has 10% from item 3067 but magically gets 20% when it's complete.

I would increase the price of the combine by 50 gold and give it 25 more HP.
