my opinion on new AP items after trying them on PBE
i love how riot changed the AP itemization, finally i don't have to get always the same 6 items, finally we can make some choises
finally liandry's damage got splitted and they gave this item an identity (btw i'm still trying to understand its tooltip >.<),new morello feels a bit weak but at least now mages have to choose if they want to damage squishyes or tanks
twin shadows sure is a bit too cheap, but its users need it to be cheap and it gives no defense and less damage compared with other items if they really need to nerf it,they should just change its AP to 70/60
spellbound is an interesting item,it's meant for being effective when you are fighting, but i think it will end up being stacked while you are poking and then nuking someone/escaping with the 50%MS (let's see how it works as soon as they add it on PBE)
glp800 is really nice as first item, the only annoying thing is that its projectiles are too slow and that they don't start at the same time but they go one by one starting from the right (so enemies on the left will get hit with a longer delay than the ones on the right, sometimes they don't get hit for that , i think it's unfair giving an advantage only for the side you are playing)
it'd be cool if this item active would look like an (homogeneous) impulse, even if they keep the projectile slow at least it would look better and it would be more intuitive to use
i think archangel is too strong,it lost 18 AP (30 but it have more base mana so it's 18) but gained 20%CDR and the
+
will give basically an infinite mana sustain even without manaflow
taking this item over the other 2 start means you are losing 18 AP (though it will be even as soon as you start stacking it) and a damage passive/active,but it gives an insane mana sustain so you can outpush them, spam more,or playing safe (freezing or last hitting under your tower) so easily, that's why i think this item's early power is comparable with the other 2,but it scale so hard into the mid/lategame
tried it on PBE on champions like orianna/syndra/veigar,i couldn't run OOM even if i was trying, and in midgame with
+ (new morello) + sorcerer's i was oneshooting everything i was touching while being tanky (500~700HP shield + 300 bonus HP from morello),if we add a zhonya or banshee gl if you want to kill them (btw can't wait for having 1000+AP with spellbound orb)
well, maybe it end up being bad,but that was my first thought about this item
about luden i think it perfectly fills the niche that other 2 items doesn't do,though 100 base damage on this item could be a bit too much since is spammable,i think they will change its passive to something like 80 +15%AP or making its base damage scaling with levels
about rilay, rabadon and void changes i got a bit disappointed
rilay needed a 10%CDR,not 10 more AP that's barely noticeable
and yet we can't have a decent build path for rabadon and void staff (at least an AP
so i don't have to wait and delay my build by 2600g for the kog that built
+
)
and yet we can't have some defensive items options like all other classes
then it seems like they forgot about
and
,all 3 items needed some change
about lich they should have buffed its mana pool to 500 as well,or making it the 4th starting item (same changes as luden) so champions that build it like twisted fate or ekko wont feel like they are buying a weaker item than others, anyway making it as gold efficient as other items are
about nashor and ROA,nothing has be done for making those items less niche
