RIOT: Feedback on Current Mejai's Iteration
The current Mejai's Soulstealer on the PBE is a stacking item that delivers up to 25 stacks of +5 AP each, along with a base AP of 20. This means that at it's apex the Soulstealer gives the wielder +145 AP. A Rabadon's gives more than this. I realize the Soulstealer is much cheaper in terms of gold, but it is a very high risk item.
A Rioter recently stated, regarding the new Rageblade passive, that the reward for being in combat long enough to activate the passive should be something meaningful and powerful, since you put in the risk and effort to gain all 8 stacks in combat. Why does the same not apply to the Soulstealer, a much more high risk item? Currently, the AP for a Soulstealer just isn't worth it. Why would I risk my item slot and my gold for an item that at maximum gives 25 more base AP than rabadon's, when at any given moment I can lose 40 AP from the item by dying? This isn't a high risk high reward item. This is a high risk moderate reward item.
Given that Mejai's is (with the removal of SotO) literally the highest risk item in the game, shouldn't the numbers for fully stacking the item reflect that?
