Is Kayn supposed to get hit by AOEs and other effects while ulted?

I noticed I've been dying while in his ult fairly often. It seems like ground effects and auras, possibly other stuff as well still hurt him. I think giving him actual invulnerability while ulted would help a lot. I think I've been killed while inside someone like 4 or 5 times today.

Also buff shadow form's damage. Maybe allow him to keep moving while he does Q? The pause for the spin feels weird since he's all about speed in assassin mode.

Tethers, DoTs, and other similar effects can still hurt you (like Zed ult). Normal AoE can't hurt you.

I have seen a lot of Kayn players die to deaths dance as they ult. It's pretty funny since they think there is no possible way to die when u ulted

His Ult states he is Untargetable, meaning he cannot be damaged directly by procs and Spells and Autoattacks. HOWEVER What you probably Keep dying from is Debuffs and DoT's.

Ignite and a Zed R and Fizz W Passive are the 3 best examples, followed up by GP Passive and Fiddle drain, and also including Burn damages and Deathfire Touch and Redbuff Ticks and redsmite ticks. You Can still die while ulting, but it is situational. You Probably got whacked by Redbuffs and Redsmites and ignites a lot without noticing it.

Yeah there is a bug with Kayn i died 5 times in one game in my ult from AoE damage, mainly from trying to solo Graves. and he got DD late game so it wasnt that.

Make Kayn's Ultimate more like Alpha Strike invunerablity, Kayn is already so weak.

This happened to me in my last kayn game. I got killed by Vi's E's AOE during my ult.

I think the shadow forms damage is in the W so I think he needs a bit more experimentation before dishing out mass buffs or anything.

And about the ult I think DOT attacks still affect him after he ults so it could be that. I never got hit by anything while ulting so it could just be a conditional bug.

Had this happen to me today. Died to blitzcrank E while in ult twice. Yes you read that right his E the powered auto attack, he auto'd me while i was in ult twice. No DoTs on enemy team.

I tested it in training mode, sometimes when you ult a enemy and you're already gone a tower hit will still damage you, before the tower shot arrived at my champion I was already untargetabble yet still got damaged half a second later meaning the tower shot hit me while in ult form, that means it could happen to abilities and AA's as well which would explain how you and others keep dying while in ult.

it seems that if you ult a half a second before the tower shoot it will still hit and damage you even though you're already untergetabble

AoE not, damage over time absolutely. Building Death's Dance will also inrease the frequency of this happening.

I would have an interesting suggestion though that would make Kayn more unique but also overpowered. When he ults and infests a champion just let him pass all debuffs, CC or DoT's to the infested target. So if you build deaths dance, the target you ult starts bleeding. If you get ignited, exhausted, slowed, blinded it also affects your ult target instead of you while you are inside them. I think this would make him hilarious and create a lot of rants on the board. The amount of rants is usually a good indicator for champion being good . lel

They would definitely have to tune down Rhaasts ult heal though, or just give it to Shadow Assassin whos ult isn't that loaded already.
