To those of you who are saying onslaught is too hard

Git gud honestly.

To say it blunt just because a few of you are having such a hard time dodging Velkoz, kiting Skarner Chogath or bursting KogMaw you simply just have to get better at the game. The gamemode has been out for 1 day, and everyone is already crying for nerfs to the gamemode, when you don't even want to put an effort in to actually win the game. The majority of people seems to have such a hard time winning onslaugh, but if that's too hard for you then go back down to invasion, even though it's the same linear system you face and can easily be learned and pathed around.

TL;DR: It's a simple gamemode you can memorize in like 5 games and win it even if you soloQ. Stop crying about it being too hard on the first day of its release.

The problem is there's no MMR, so you're matched with random (and to be honest, probably pretty bad) players. If everyone on my team was plat, I'm sure I could win most of the time, but as is I'm either the only competent support or the only competent damage dealer most of the time. Riot needs some kind of group finder if they want actually difficult content like this.

the real problem is, that the mode seems a bit rng heavy.

the same stages you have different opponents in different games. worst case towards the end of a stage you have hordes of kog maws spawning with shields attached to them, so you cant just aoe them down or disrupt them in time before they go into artillery mode and kill you in a matter of 2 or 3 seconds.

or you have hordes of chogath and reksais nonstop cc chaining you, while you die to the artillery. actually that one feels like regular summoners rift.

If they didn't mix it up the mode would feel incredibly stale after a few matches, maybe they could tune the seperate challenges, but you can't remove variance.

I would say it's probably somewhere between "too hard" and "a simple game mode". The average team skill required to beat it seems to be around plat.

Seeing that you're diamond it probably isn't too hard for you to get a team where the average skill level is plat. For people who are of average skill (50 percentile is mid silver) it's much harder to draw a team that has the plat skill average required for success.

Not everyone can carry at diamond level though. You certainly can make the case that if even just a few people can beat the mode it isn't "too hard". I have no problem with difficult challenges. If it requires a diamond player on your team to win though - which means only 2% of people can carry the game - i'm not sure that makes the game mode "simple" - unless diamond players are "simple".

I'm sure it feels good to come on the forums though and tell anyone who isn't diamond to "git gud" so kudos for that!
