Ravenous Hunter is a Broken Rune

This rune allows for far too many champions to obtain healing when their original design was not meant to have any or nearly as much healing. This is one huge issue that is plaguing league.

what good is healing when everyone(even full tank) dies in 1 second

it is super good early to mid game where if you get poked you can easily heal back up where in the past that was not possible.

As a someone that likes to play poke supports botlate, Fleet Footwork is way more insane. You basically can't get the enemy out of lane. Ravenous works with only a few champions. Even Kassadin takes Fleet Footwork.

If you get 5 unique kills or assists sure. Ravenous hunter is not a problem by any stretch of the imagination, and if it were, spend 800g and fix that problem.

Its 1.5%+2.5%per stack... ... And wouldnt you know it, ALL damage dealer explicit "free stat" runes have the same raw stat value!

Its 15% of all damage its actually better then item 3812 and item 3146 who are 33% of the 15% for aoe damage.

Wrong. Ravenous is only ABILITY damage. Skills classified as Attacks, and Basic attacks do NOT heal on Ravenous Hunter.

P.S. Ravenous also has the 1/3 for aoe rule.

Nah. Relentless hunter is far more broken. Ravenous doesn't offer enough heals to really abuse it, as it follows the same rules as any other healing source (33% for aoes), and only applies to abilities, not attacks.

P.S. All champs used to have access to far more spell vamp. Ravenous is only 1/3 of what they had.

Spell Vamp used to only heal for 1/3 on AoE abilities as well and it was in items which were not that gold efficient while the rune off er ra extreme efficiency. Also why do 9 out of 10 mages, assassins, and fighters run it?

  1. The original Spell Vamp had no such drawback. It was like life steal. 100% Transferable.

  2. Most don't. And the ones who do, generally have a lower win rate than if they took Ultimate Hunter or Relentless Hunter. And the reason they take it is simply because they go Electrocute or Dark Harvest. They have to get something.

  3. They choose it because it's supplemental to their already existing heal options. Stacking heal options like Taste of Blood, inherent kit options, and the healing items increases the amount you heal. It's only a small fraction of what most who take it heal. But, it's "something"

  4. Ravenous hunter champions die more often. I used to take it too. What I discovered was peeling and having relentless hunter was just far stronger. If you take Relentless Hunter on a mage like Zyra , you can literally get around the map faster than 90% of the champion arsenal. I get up to 526 Move speed out of combat/487 move speed in combat with her. THAT saves lives.

That is why before it was removed from the game it was switched to get drawbacks like I said.

31 champions plus Sylas take it as the most played rune set up. I don't count Sylas 100% because it may change, but I doubt it. Almost half of those champions do not run Electrocute or Dark Harvest. If it was not optimal than they would get Ultimate Hunter, unless they didn't have a real ultimate like Nidalee/Jayce.

Consistently close to if not more than half of my healing will be from Ravenous Hunter when I run it. I would say that is pretty common. But I would not know for everyone, but from my experience it heals for a high percentage.

Your last point about them dying more often does not mean anything and also yeah supports like MS so it would make sense to run Relentless on Zyra.

  1. 31 out of? 178? That's not 90%. I'm sorry but almost all of them run Electrocute/Dominate.

  2. Seriously doubt that unless you're playing Morgana.

Also, I don't play Zyra Support. I play Zyra Top/Jungle/Mid. I can support her, but she's better in other roles. Stop trying to segregate champs by role.

Also, dying more is extremely significant. It means the healing isn't doing its job, and that the other team is earning more gold off of you. It means you move slower, lose more waves, and reach fewer fights. You take less objectives.

if damage is too high why would you want to nerf sustain?
