Riot is hurting themselves and players by making Champions/Runes so expensive
If you're like me, you grind IP for champions and save your precious money for things IP can't buy, such as skins and icons. The most expensive champions cost 6300, which if you average 100IP (very unlikely) per game equals 63 games to unlock a champion. Riot is basically locking themselves out of an income stream from the people that would buy skins for these champions that they enjoy playing during free week, but haven't had the time to grind for IP yet due to runes being extremely expensive and other priority champions that the player would like to purchase. It is also gating relatively new players by limiting their champion pool, making them unable to trade, and unable to keep up with meta swings if the champions they've bought fall out of favor. All in all, I believe it would benefit all parties involved if riot were to lower the price of champions and especially runes, in order to create a better ranked environment for newer players, and maybe increase Riot's bottom line thru skin purchases (their bread and butter.) I realize one counter argument is that some players already spend RP on champions, I would need to see the statistics, but I believe opening up players champion pools sooner will allow players to spend more money on skins sooner, as well as provide obvious benefits to players champion pools sooner in ranked games.
