Please don't state the obvious and say "just cc him" because that is literally the counterplay to everyone and there has to be some other way to fight him
I don't know what to do in lanes against fizz, need help.
I think killing him works really well
Just CC him is not counterplay to everyone. U cant for example CC Olaf. Also CC is not reliable counterplay to Nocturne if u have only 1 form of CC (like Vayne with Condemn). Also CC is not counterplay to Swain since he heals even when CCed...
Counter to Fizz is: Zone him from CS, build defense (zhonya is amazing), run Exhaust or Barrier instead of Ignite and punish his shit early game.
For example i watched pro game once Orianna vs Fizz, Fizz got ganked once, Orianna got 1 lvl ahead and whole game Fizz couldnt do anything. 1 gank shut him down completely.
Zhonya, u can deny him ult, which is 60& of him damage, another option is vanshee, gives u mr and block an ability making the initiation of fizz much more harder
If a fizz player has any mechanical depth there is none.
A good Fizz player can easily bait out and out play anything you throw at them with the troll pole. The counter play to fizz is between levels 1-3 before he gets all three abilities.
you don't just cc him~ lol fizz is a fish and if you want to catch a fish you have to play with it. wiggle yourself make yourself look like a meal well your jungler waits etc. If you waist cc then your putting yourself at risk of being dove on and auto'd to death. Fight ranged early, fight more melee if he has his ult he fight with his auto's but his ultimate increased damage. They want to use it for primary engage, but if you can out damage them than it's not that bad. zhonya saves lives it's just an option not every champ can win like that. If you can dodge the fish than do it xd
he's still hard to lane against but 
+ W then wait til he uses his E then you go all in
Oh it's easy. You just have to press left left right up down down x o down right and you win.
