Be honest, who actually likes going against point and click CC?

Who actually likes going against point and click CC, or CC that lasts obnoxiously longMorgana, as long as you have the ability to buy out of it item 2138 item 3709 item 3717 item 3721 item 3725 item 3111 item 3170 item 3172 ?

Now, who would prefer CC you have no way to itemize against, but last for short durations and/or are telegraphed and easy to mitigate or dodge?

A better question is, would you be fine with Tenacity being removed from the game so long as all forms of CC are retuned or reworked to either last for shorter durations or are better telegraphed/easy to dodge, or would you rather keep buyable forms of Tenacity in the game in trade for allowing CC to last obnoxiously long, or become close to impossible to avoid?

I recently heard a rumor that Riot intends to phase out easy to access Tenacity as it is now one day. Assuming Riot also retunes CC to make up for that, I have mixed opinions on that sort of change to the game, so I wanted to see what others think. Of the two scenarios, which one do you think you'd prefer?

(Because of how small the character limit is, options are here: Option 1: Tenacity remains to be easy to access, however current and future champion designs are permitted to have as much CC or CC that lasts as long as they want, or undodgeable forms of CC. Option 2: Tenacity is no longer easy to access (aka you can't buy it), however current and future champion designs either will have limited forms of cc that don't last as long, or forms of CC you can mitigate through in game actions like dodging, or CCing the user (Champs like Rek'Sai who CC around themselves).

...Why can't I vote for tenacity being accessible but involving a trade off, with cc remaining as is?

Nothing wrong with point and click CC

They usually trade the reliability with shorter range or shorter duration

Also they help with the mobility creep with easier to use CC.

Morgana

I kid I kid, hers is easier* to dodge, but I'm not really saying that there's anything 'wrong' with them, I just wanted to collect opinions on which of the two hypothetical situations that you would rather experience.

It really rests on the rumor I heard. If there is a large debate around Tenacity, I would like to have some idea of what would occur out of it, at least in terms of player opinions.

I kinda question the down votes.

This is a question being asked. There's literally no need for down votes (or up votes for that matter, but still).

I would rather them keep it the way it is than doing either of these ideas.

I doubt we'll ever see Tenacity phased out. Some champs are built around their CC and would require MAJOR reworks if their CC was all but deleted (Mages and tanks).
I'm not saying it's impossible, but it would require a major overhaul of the game, like make the new jungle look minor in scale compared.

I wouldn't say all but deleted.

And it would probably be a more gradual thing, hence my choosing the phrase "phase out".

Think Sion's rework for example. He's an example of a champion who literally expresses this thread to a t. When he was reworked, he went from a point and click stun to two forms of knock ups that are hard to land without setting up with others. The knock ups themselves are AOE and if Sion does catch you, expect not to be moving anytime soon, but unlike previously where it was simply point and click for long lasting CC, he trades the duration of his CC for actual need for setup.

Taric is another example of Sion, point and click stun. I'm very tempted to say that if he does receive one more update, that point and click stun of his is going to be changed into something requiring aiming, for example. Time will tell, but just an example to show.

As far as point and click CC goes, I agree eventually it may be phased out of the game, though that's going to be a long process. Taric is more like Sion than you think, his kit contains quite a few elements considered toxic by one person or another. Truthfully Taric needs a pretty drastic rework to aspects of his kit.

Long duration CC, I don't think will go away. People complain about it, but truthfully there's not a LOT that needs to be adjusted with CC there. One of the biggest complaints (Morgana ) the major issue with her isn't the duration of her snare but how off the hit box is which is a genuine complaint and I'm surprised hasn't been addressed before now.

this is like asking if you want 5 leonas on the enemy team im not sure this is well thought out

TehNACHO1 votes

...if tenacity is kept and cc stays as it currently is Leona, or if tenacity is phased out and cc is toned down with it?

You sound like if the removal of Tenacity is going to turn CC into an obnoxious over the top force when I make it very clear that in the theoretical situation that if Tenacity does eventually go away, CC would probably get tuned down as well.

Nami has a much easier time against Varus than she does against Ezreal

Taric doesn't care one way or the other.

Thus, the push to eliminate targeted CC is one of the big drivers of mobility creep. In addition to the natural positioning advantage, mobile champions also gain resistance to CC, and that's a highly desirable property.
