Do people think emotes feel good to use?

I bought a few because I've always found great joy in spamming the mastery 5-6-7 emotes for any reason I can think of. I use my mastery emotes after dodging a gank, getting caught out for the 7th time, collecting cs or while getting a creep wave frozen on me so naturally I was attracted to this new idea. The problem I found though is that they don't feel very good to use. Their sound effects are so subtle they may as well not be there and I'm not sure why, but even the icons themselves don't really jump out at you in-game. It's also sad that you can't use them in death.

Excluding complaints about price or "omg rp" I'm curious what people think about them and their execution in-game.

I love them, they make the game feel more laid back and not as infuriating as seeing mastery spam.

I had a few arams the day they came out where me and my team were just kinda spamming the thumbs up for no reason at all, just because we wanted to. When there was a stall we just gathered together and spammed it. In both games some on the enemy teams responded in kind, by spamming the thumbs up. Both teams had fun from what I could tell, and we didn't do it to purposely tick someone off.

In fact, I believe in one of them someone on my team couldn't survive a dive, in response to what he said in chat we all gave him a thumbs up. Which, he didn't say anything rude to us it was more him making fun of his own death. As far as I know, he had no problem with the 4 thumbs up he got.

So I'd say, when used at times like that when being supportive/funny and not using them to purposely tilt your team/enemy(which we know most likely is happening), they're pretty fun to use. And hey, I may only have the thumbs up but it's gonna come in great when tellling my team they did good.
