Increase tower range radius or their targeting speed?

This is just an idea thrown out there, but wouldn't melee vs ranged lanes be more enjoyable if towers were actually any usefull when ranged adcs poke your poor champ under tower? Ranged mage vs melee matchups are ten times more enjoyable because of the fact they actually use mana and most of their damage come from skillshots, allowing you to actually juke them under tower.

Everytime I'm up against a ranged champion as a melee champ, whether it is mid lane or top, I either pray my jungler can camp my lane, or I pray their right click button breaks down halfway through the lane.

This might just be me though.
