Muramana is bad is because there aren't items to support it

Or that's part of the reason, at least.

With Seraph's you can pick up Lichbane or Rod of Ages to help you get the most out of its passive.

But for Mura? You've got Trinity (sort of) and that's it. If there were a Spellblade item less focused on Crit (item 3052 item 1043 item 3057 kthnx) and an AD item that built out of Catalyst then I suspect Muramana would be quite a bit more attractive.

It's more on the fact that all the items that did work with it well were all changed to fit different kits over the last 2 seasons.

Basically, yes.

No more mana from Banshee. Trinity isn't quite as attractive anymore since Mura is most favorable to AD Casters and thus Crit is less valuable. It still works well paired with Iceborn, but a not-Tank option would be neat.

It offers you the highest AD of any items when fully charged even if you're playing the champion with the lowest mana pool available in the entire game. Definitely a more situational item though because charging it does take up time.

Seems like a slippy slope to falsehood. 2% of maximum mana. that's only 20 AD for every 1000. So after getting 1000 form a Fully stacked Muranamana, that's only 45AD from the items itself. Your high end AD items still have 75 AD on them. So to make up that difference. You would need a mana pool of 1500 base. which would only happen late.

I was speaking with the active as part of it of course (does someone actually turn this off?) So you would need to add 6% of your mana to every auto and spell meaning even with only the item considered that's 60 extra damage on top of the 65 already existing damage.

The active really doesn't hold the same value as flat AD. Since nothing can modify it's damage. And only applies on Attacks and single targets spells.

How many champs can make use of Only that. Many such camps are caster heavy as it is. Perhaps Urgot and Ez could make the best use of that effect. What about Jayce or Varius? Most of their abilities are AoE.

I'm confused as to why it shouldn't be counted. It's physical damage not like they made it a magic damage dealing bonus. You're armor pen still affects it. You can still get better use of it with more attack speed and the damage is still going to increase as you build more items and finish your TF.

Yes the damage is only from single targets perhaps RIOT can consider making it work on AOE skills for a lesser extent who knows. You almost have black cleaver though for AOE physical damage dealers that allows them to shred the armor of every single champ they hit with an ability.

Ezreal still does pretty well with Muramana and Iceborn Gauntlet.

That's because Blue Ezreal is a little bitch.

Well that's true, but point stands.

The items work pretty well.

They could just make it build from bf sword instead of pickaxe and increase it's base AD accordingly.

it's bad because it causes severe mana issues when completed, takes way too long to fully charge and only works with autos or very specific skills

For those reasons also, yes.

But the lack of additional item support doesn't help, either.

I don't see why it needs buffs in that regard.

Say you're at 1k current mana. It'll increase your single target damage by 60 damage from the proc alone.

If they started making mana builds with it, we'd see nerfs to balance it. If it needs buffs, it's in other areas like mana regen. Or maybe giving it 10% CDR.

Muramana isn't bad because there aren't any items to support it(it supports itself if anything), it just needs buffs to the stats it offers. Increase the mana regen, give it CDR or maybe just change the build path with a BF and adjust the base AD, just something.
