Inb4 Morde gets nerfed to the ground

I love the mordekaiser rework, I plan to play the shit out of him when he's released, but I can't help but feel like he's going to see pro-play and then get nerfed to the ground.

For example, what if he ults Lee-Sin trying to steal baron? What if he builds semi-tanky and ults an ADC or mage out of the fight? What if pros make plays with his E causing them to reduce the range/damage/pullback of it?

It's a sad thought because morde looks genuinely fun to play, but I'd rather not see him receive the Ornn treatment.

It'd be surprising if he didn't get reverted, honestly. This ult looks a little too overbearing in team play. Like, 100% pick/ban in pro play or high elo. It effectively makes one person obsolete from a fight. Whether the Morde is fed or not, it's still a really strong ult. Not to mention, the interactions with various champs (I.E. Yuumi) and items (Banshee veil, etc.) I just don't know if it's a particularly fair ability. I think it's a really cool concept, but I don't think it has a place in League, tbh. Those are my personal opinions.

My biggest worries are honestly his ult and all that free magic pen on his W. I don't think they're gonna nerf the swain claw...err...metal-man claw.

7s is a decently long time to huehuehue the enemy diver after you ult them off your adc (considering they blew half their abilities getting in there, they're not in a good space without that kill or reset, and you're gonna be too beefy for them more than likely)

and 25% (at max rank) magic pen without ever touching a magic pen item is sort of bonkers. Albeit, he's basically only got two damaging abilities at pretty short range, and a passive he has to actually land his kit for to proc. Still...the free stats worry me since its effectively a lot of hidden damage, especially towards tanks that think they've got decent MR against it.

i imagine he will have to stay within a certain range of the targeted champion. And if he does not, it will prematurely break the effect.

Yeah its sort of the story of every reworked champion other than nunu and a few others

old->Rework->too strong->nerfed->guttered

About the stuff with ulting a jungler to prevent him smiting Baron: They actually should change it that Baron is targetable (but doesn't aggro any of the participants of Mordekaiser's ult) and allow the usage of smite on objectives like Baron and dragon during the ult.

Otherwise Mordekaiser becomes way too overbearing when it comes to contesting jungle objectives.

Maybe make his R range real short. Like 200 units. So you have to either CC them first or flash on them to use it.

This would even allow for buffs on him. And makes more sense that he has to "grab" the enemy to get them to the shadow realm.

I mean, his ult isn't op. 90% of the time the priority targets are targets that can duel him(or at least stall for 7 seconds), and when they aren't, then he's got some stats, but it's quite possible that the enemy team ambushes him. You HAVE to use it well for it to work, and even then, it still has inherent counterplay, so it's actually quite balanced.
