randuins omen being outclass

Dear Riot, Today, im not actually here to talk about how broken the champions are, i mean i think it a nice work with fiora, though i feel like you might be over doing it with her getting a nerf, I know she powerful and her sustain is really high, her ability grants a lot of mobility, damage and slight sustain. Im not saying this nerf is bad, however her attack speed being remove sounds kinda harsh. I agree that her mobility should be nerf on her ultimate. I mainly wanna understand why is it your removing both mobility on her ultimate and the attack speed gained from her E( w? i dont main her, just fought against her many times and all). now to look at the next thing you riot did, the rework on thornmail. Even though i can agree this is the first amazing idea you riot made, however wont this outclass Randuin's Omen? thornmail has now 250 hp, 75 armor, and sets up with 2 unique abilities, one being that attack speed and the second one reflects damage equal to 10% of bonus armor and 25 as magic damage, it also applies greavous wounds. now while this item stands out as a great item. but now randuins omen can be out class? randuins omen only gives 350 hp with 60 armor and it can slow atttack speed, reduce critical aa and applies slow when nearby enemy champions

Randuins Omen and Thorn Mail do two completely different things, and would have different use cases.

Thornmail would be an obvious choice against someone like warwick who wants to get in your face and heal a stupid amount of HP. But the amount of damage it reflects back isn't all that great when you take into account of player's magic resistances, and suddenly you might as well have item 3068 Which gives you some better stats all around. It gives poke to ranges who focus you... but it won't kill anyone.

Randuin's gives crowd control, and attack speed reduction, and reduced critical damage. What makes this better? One of the common ADC builds are critical hits (roll eyes as his main is forced into building that now). With Infinity Edge, critical hit damage is 2.5 which pushes quite a bit of damage past the armor. And almost all critical hit items gives attack speed. If you are facing a team with high amounts of critical hit damage or attack speed. Or you are using a character with no good form of crowd control, or a squishy assassin... you want this thing.

with the new thornmail it also solves problems of attack speed, maybe not the critical but the attack speed yeah. think of it as this, you probably never thought about this but when i play poppy support, i get items that affacts them when they are near by me, Randuins Omen can be my choice cause when they attack me they lose attack speed which also activates my keystone "stoneborn pack" and i do get a 20% reduce damage to critical auto attack, well let me get a bit more detail here, it may state that it helps with AA, but that dont stop champions like miss fortune, yasuo, and kog mog. kog mog gains attack speed and on hit damage that is based on you max hp, which doesnt include his regular AA. 75% of all his attacks are in magical and it hard still to stop it. randuins omen nor thornmails can't really help that, cause he gains so much attack speed that it negates that 15% attack speed he would lose. Now for yasuo, his q can crit, all of it, and since randuin cant reduce the crit from abilities you would think "oh so thornmail can help with that" and you forget that he pens through 50% armor when he ults, and it not hard to do that is it? 3 Q in less then 5 seconds as you been launch into the air and get slam dunk with slight damage but then for the next 15 god dam seconds you have to survive ALL his damage that can crit pen through 50% armor, his q solves the thornmail problem and randuins, since it a ability he wont take damage and the damage wont be reduce. now for miss fortune, her ult can critical for more damage and you cant stop it nor take it when you simply add black cleaver to it, she will just kill you, not only that but her Q can crit, ineffected by thornmail nor randuins again. thornmail is great where it at, i would think it amazing tbh, but im looking at all sides here. two items that helps with aa wont help with abilities. maybe item 3194 would help with mf ult slightly but not with her q nor any others that yasuo nor kog mog has in their threshold.

Also sorry for the late reply i fell asleep right when i finish this work up, i was really really tired, i tend to worry and play league then forget slightly but still bring up important matter to riot, which im glad cause the leathality reworks looks alot better now, i mean kha and zed with that duskblade is gonna be a bit scary to see now but it good to see zed in the meta again, kinda miss the guy being played

Ninja Tabis and shields are a good counter against On hit effects. And the higher your armor is, the more effective ninja tabis are. If you want, you can try taking the Relic shield with you if you are top lane. And ask your Jungler to stop by by every two minutes to pop the three stacks it gives you to charge the shield. A recharging shield is kinda bullshit on someone like a juggernaught by the way. It confused the hell out of me when I had a normals game with someone featuring a diamond border and he asked me to do that when I was jungler.

There's not a whole lot you can do about abilities that grant critical hits except for hope to god they aren't attacking you. But if they are a tank... well they should be wasting their time on attacking you and not the people who can shut them down the quickest. If there were items that featured a damage reduction on critical hits, it would mean that ADCs would need to learn to build differently... but at the same time it would fuck over a lot of champions because they depend on critical hits.

ninja tabi state this UNIQUE: Reduces incoming damage from all basic attacks by 10% (excluding turret shots). Does not reduce damage of on-hit effects, it does however reduce damage of basic attack modifiers. you maybe right to a degree but in all sense ninja tabi only helps for some of the damage, it doesnt help with on hit effects. http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Ninja_Tabi

Ninja Tabi's damage reduction stacks multiplicatively with armor and other damage reduction effects.

that's why I said they are better when you have more armor.

On ADCs, they aren't that great outside of giving you a little armor to work with plus speed. Common ADC armor at level 18 is 89, ninja tabi gives 35(sic?). The end result is it's only 12 points of additional armor.

yes i know but it can be counter simply by using item 3035

Are you implying that you can trust an ADC to pick up a Last Whisper on at least 50% of your games?

i can imply that i can win 50% of games with that when im adc, so yes i am.

Something fun I discovered last night while remaking my damage calculator shows just how bad Randuin's actually is. The total damage reduction given by Randuin's crit reduction passive is (20% x enemy crit chance). The total damage increase given by Infinity Edge is (25% x crit chance). These two passives will completely negate each other. Infinity Edge's passive will be a 0% damage increase and Randuin's crit reduction passive will be a 0% damage decrease compared to if neither person bought either item.

that dont make sense...

Which part does not make sense to you?

item 3031 increase crit damage by 50%, while item 3143 gets damage reduction by 20% for crit Auto Attack. so isnt it suppose to be a 30% difference?

IE increase damage from crits from 200% to 250%. Randuin's then reduces that 250% by 20%, resulting in 200%. With no Randuin's and no IE, the crit would do 200% anyway.
